Meet Karen Paley, who is working on a memoir, “Living on the Left,” the story of her political activism: from aniti-war revolutionary during the Vietnam War era to a peacebuilder working with joint Palestinian/Israeli groups for the last two years against the occupation of Gaza. Recent work appears in Ravensperch, riverSedge, Of the Book, Stirring Nonfiction, the Avalon Literary Review, and the Virginia Writers Club Journal. Other publications include: I-Writing: The Politics and Practice of Teaching the Personal Narrative (So. Illinois UP); articles in The Ladies Home Journal and Boston Woman; essays in Women and Language, Writing on the Edge, The Yale Journal of the Humanities in Medicine, Traditions of Eloquence (Fordham UP), and Personal Effects (Utah UP).
