The Fallen Seven....

My wife and I were camping Labor Day weekend and decided to take a drive. The drive led to this Memorial, just a short drive out of Gorham New Hampshire. The Actual tragedy happened about half a mile from this Memorial. Now a sacred site dedicated to 7 Marines who were out for a motorcycle ride, enjoying the same Freedoms that they gave to us, turned upside down in a split second. As I took these pictures, I was reminded how short life can be. I was full of emotion, reflecting on my dad and I taking motorcycle trips through the same place when I was a young boy. For the families of the Fallen Seven, this place may never be the same, but rest assured, this Memorial just adds to the beauty and serenity of the White Mountains. It offers a place where any
Service Member, retired of active, can stop and reflect on their personal sacrifice, say a prayer and continue on their Journey in this thing we call "Life".

A Bee's Life.

The Walnut Grove Church on Salmon Falls Road in Rochester has an amazing Flower bed. My wife and I stopped last year, took some pictures, so this year, I decided to do the same. Being late September, seasons are getting ready to change. Crisp air in the mornings, followed by the warming of the sun. This Bee does not know the difference nor does he care. He has one thing on his mind, and that is collecting what pollen he can. He is hard at work, going from flower to flower, keeping the life cycle going until eventually the cold of late Fall and Winter sends eveything into hybernation, or dies off until the rebirth next year.

Standing The Test of Time.

Just over the border in Berwick, Maine is a Preserve that I like to take the dog and walk. Every year I have always stopped and admired this old bridge. This year, I decided to take a couple pictures, looking at it as not just a piece of rust, but the historical value this could have. I have tried to research this bridge and the only information I have found is that back in the late 1800"s, the town of Rochester has several school houses. This bridge connected Maine and New Hampshire and the road that leads to the bridge on the New Hampshire side, has one of those foundations of an old school house, and at the end of the road, is the Walnut Grove Church on the Salmon Falls Road.

This bridge, still standing for many years, has seen Floods, High waters, rough Winters, Hurricans and minus the deck, has survived. Not giving an inch, reminds us of how life was back then. When things were built, they were built to last.

If this bridge could talk, think of the stories it could tell.

The Legend Of Chief Chocorua.

While looking up the meaning of Chocorua, I came across an article put out by the Chocorua Lake Conservancy. I highly suggest giving it a read.

When you drive up Route 16 through the towns of Wakefield, Ossipee, Tamworth and Chocorua New Hampshire, you will see this peak. It is very noticable from the other mountains. While the Fall season is running behind in 2023, the year 2022 provided these great shots. Whether it be Winter, Fall, Spring or Summer, the Mountain and the lake that shares it's name, Chocorua Lake provide ample opportunities for some beautiful pictures.

An Evening Stroll with Mom.

Too see a baby Moose with its mom is very unheard of. Well, this changed for us. While on our evening scouting for Moose, look who appeared. This is a moment we will never forget. They came out of the woods, Mom walking slowly with child in her foot steps. Making sure we didnt get in her private space, keeping our distance, I zoomed in and got the shot. Truly a magical moment.

The End of Another Day.

Every year my wife and I venture to Jackman Maine for a 9 day vacation. This particular day, July 6th, 2022 was hot and humid. Even being 15 minutes from the Canadian border, there was no breeze, not a hint of cool refreshing air. That day provided this beautiful Sunset instead, and it was perfect. I set up my Tri pod, mounted the Cannon and started shooting. It wasn't until today that I finally got a glimps of the pictures, and finally got them perfected.
