This is what happens when you plan an elopement instead of just picking a pretty location and showing up. 👏🏼

They chose one of the most popular areas in the White Mountains, but we wanted this day to actually feel intimate. So we planned for a weekday sunrise, built the timeline around the light, and chose three different locations that worked together for the entire morning.

And the best part? There wasn’t a single other car in the parking lot at any of the THREE locations. 😂

They got to experience these incredible spots without the crowds, and I got to bring the vision we had talked about to life exactly how we wanted.

This is why planning is such a huge part of what I do as a New Hampshire elopement photographer. I’m not just showing up with a camera. I’m helping you figure out when to go, where to go, how to build your timeline, and how to make a popular location feel like it was made for your day.

I think there’s this idea that if you want a documentary, storytelling gallery, your photographer shouldn’t be posing you.

But I actually pose and prompt a lot.

Because sometimes the best photo starts with a little direction. I might put you somewhere beautiful, give you something to do, pull you into each other, and then let the moment unfold from there.

That’s how I create galleries that feel cinematic and full of movement without every photo feeling like you were standing there waiting for me to take it.

And yes, the creative, slightly weird, “this belongs on Instagram” photos are absolutely going to be in there. I love those. But they’re sprinkled throughout your gallery. They aren’t the entire story.

At the end of the day, I want you to have photos you actually want to print and hang around your house. The laughing, the hugs, the way you looked at each other, the little in-between moments, the people you brought with you, and all the pieces that made the day yours.

That’s the whole point of storytelling photography to me. I’m there to help create the moments, but I’m also there to make sure your gallery feels like you actually lived the day.

When I photographed their wedding, I knew I was getting to document a really important chapter for them.

But now I get to photograph them with their baby, and honestly, this is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer.

I know how quickly this season goes. You spend so much time making sure everyone else is in the photos that you can easily end up with a camera roll full of your baby and barely any photos that show you actually being their parent.

That’s why I love these sessions. I’m not just there to take a few pretty pictures of your newborn. I’m documenting the little things you’re going to want to remember years from now. The tiny hands, the way they fit against your chest, the way you look at them, and the everyday moments that feel so normal right now.

Getting to grow with my couples and document their families is something I’ll never take for granted.

Here’s the thing: I do NOT pretend I’m on Survivor when we’re picking your elopement locations.

I know my limits, and I encourage my couples to know theirs, too.

Because your wedding-day hike is different from a normal Saturday hike.

Your pack is probably heavier. My pack is VERY heavy with camera gear. We’re stopping for photos. We’re carrying wedding clothes, snacks, water, etc. And the last thing I want is for you to hike your ass off, reach the top, and be completely drenched in sweat before you even say your vows.

And with the White Mountains? A trail being “only 1.5 miles” tells you basically nothing. 😂

I’ve done 3-mile hikes that felt easier than some 1.5-mile hikes.

So yes, can some of these trails be done? Absolutely.

But do you necessarily WANT to do them on your wedding day? Maybe not.

That’s where I come in.

During planning, we’ll talk through the actual terrain, elevation, mileage, your comfort level, the gear you’ll be carrying, how much time we have, and what you actually want your wedding day to FEEL like.

Because I’m here to help you have an adventure not prove that you can survive one. 😂

You booked the Scotland elopement. I’m over here figuring out where the hell we’re actually going. 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

One of my favorite parts of being a Scotland elopement photographer is that I’m not interested in just sending you a list of pretty places and calling it a day.

I want to know what the trail is actually like.
Where the light hits.
What the views look like in person.
What spots are worth the hike.
And where we can get away from the crowds and actually have a moment to yourselves.

Because your Scotland elopement should feel like an adventure you’re actually experiencing together and not a photoshoot where I drag you from one viewpoint to the next.

So yes, I’m out here scouting, exploring new locations, getting slightly obsessed with maps, and mentally planning elopements for couples who haven’t even booked me yet. 😂
