Ocean View

There is nothing more calming and peaceful than the colors of the ocean as the water meets the shore. I shot this in South Africa at the eco paradise of Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. With this print, any space can have an ocean view.

My new favorite way to achieve the sleek style of metal or acrylic at an affordable price.

The images below are taken in my home where I have Lone Hike in Colorado printed on satin fine art paper and styled on gatorfoam with a mount block. The image floats off the wall and is SO easy to hang. Just put a nail in the wall and set the mount right on it.

Day’s End

This image will forever take me back to when I took my daughter and her fiance to Martha's Vinyard to look at wedding venues. The ocean was especially active that late afternoon, with the intense colors of the sky adding to the drama of the scene. I love all the lines of the tide heading back out to sea.

The Rose

Introducing “Flow”

A few days ago, I set out to photograph a certain subject I had envisioned for weeks since arriving in CO. I was excited when I left for the shoot, and a bit dejected when leaving the site as I knew I didn’t capture the image I wanted.

But….

After importing my images and dismissing one after the other, a little surprise appeared.

As I was zooming in on a photo to look at my original subject, I found that the flowing water of the Rio Grande River all on its own, was the unexpected star of the day.

Not only did an image appear that I absolutely love, but it checked off a photo that I have been hunting for months but couldn’t quite achieve to my level of satisfaction.

The take-away…

I got a bit of a life lesson or reminder. There are positive outcomes around every corner. Even when you are convinced there are not. My mood immediately improved when I realized I had something special, and the discouragement became encouragement in a matter of seconds.

So that’s my little bit of psychology for the day while I share my latest release.

Look Up
We spent quite a while observing this gorgeous leopard while on safari in the Sabi Sands. We kept trying to find what he was looking at. Was it a kill he was protecting up in the tree? We couldn't see anything, but clearly he had his eyes on something as he would look up every few seconds.

Dramatic Tree
If you've been on safari, you'll appreciate how special it is to stop for sundowners in the bush. This was a magical night with the intense colors of the sky showing through the dramatic lines of these bare tree branches.
