Bbabies aren’t meant to bend like origami. While some photographers specialize in intricate newborn photo poses using props, I’ve found that those setups can put unnecessary stress on both baby and parents.

For me, your baby’s safety and comfort are always the top priority. I won’t place them in baskets, balance them on props, or tuck them into unnatural positions. Babies are perfect just as they are. My goal is to document them unfolding naturally—whether that means stretching, yawning, or curling into your chest.

I'm not "just" a photographer.

That is what I do, yes. But it's who I am that makes me the photographer you will work with.

I am a mother of 6, who (trigger warning) suffered 4 pregnancy losses.

I am a business owner, who built my business over the past 17 years while raising my babies.

I am a wife of 19 years - married to my high school sweetheart.

I am an animal lover - we have a dog, a tortoise, 2 bunnies, and 4 cats. (We would probably have more, but my husband has more of a level head than me).

I am a Disney adult. My favorite thing is having a trip countdown. In my free time I work on a YouTube channel for sharing those adventures and tips for families.

All of these things are things I bring with me when I'm photographing families like yours. My understanding of my camera is a small part. I know it like the back of my hand, so I'm not worried about the technical side of taking your photos.

Nope, I'm looking for that piece of magic to photograph. I understand the joy and miracle each child is. I know just how a baby changes a family, how a second child makes your oldest feel so grown and still your baby all at the same time.

So no, I'm not just a photographer. You wouldn't want me to take your portraits if I was.

You're not gonna want to hear this. But I'm going to say it anyways.

When I was having my first child, everyone was full of advice. While I admit, I listened and took note, I didn't want to hear a lot of it. Mainly because I wanted to experience motherhood for myself.

But here I am, 16 years into motherhood - a mom of 6. And here's what I offer you.

It goes fast. It's cliche for a reason. It goes way too fast. At times it feels like time is moving slowly, that a stage is tough but I promise you, it's not forever.

And I don't mean "you only get 18 yeas quickly." No I believe you have more time than that.

But those newborn baby days. Those days where you're the center of their world. The days of watching them grow and change by the day. They go quickly.

So take the pictures. Hire the photographer. Get into the photo. Before you know it, you'll be sitting here like me, looking at old photos of your "babies."

By the way, the kids in this photo....they are mine. That boy is now 15 - learning to drive. The girl is about to turn 14, starting her last year in middle school. That baby, she's 6 and so full of personality. They are in beautiful stages right now, but I still love to peek back at these photos.

As my children are finishing their first week back to school for the 2026-2027 school year, I can't help but pick up their baby photo albums.

It feels like both a lifetime and yesterday that they were newborns. That the hospital actually let my husband and I walk out the door with our newborn baby boy, Milo. This year he started his sophomore year in high school.

It feels like we were just starting a new school year with my daughter Cohen, beginning her elementary school journey with kindergarten. She's now in 1st grade.

All this blubbering rambling to say, take the photos, my friend. Hire the photographer. The most cliche phrase holds so so true. Babies don't keep.

I was worried I made a mistake. I was worried I ruined our family.

As my due date approached with my second child, the uncertainty crept in. What had I done? How would my son feel having a sibling? Would he know we still loved him so much? Was I good enough of a mother for two children?

And then my daughter was born. I saw my children together, and every worry washed away. Our world was as it was meant to be.

It doesn't mean it's always easy, but it means, that there was nothing to fear.

If you're having feelings of guilt for having baby #2, it's okay. I've been in your shoes. Know, it will be okay. It will be more than okay.

The answer? Yes. Do it. In fact, I insist. The question? Is it okay if my dog is included in our newborn photos.
