Happy Halloween!

It’s been a busy couple of months to say the least.
Lots and lots of family sessions with great fall weather.
Schools photos with hundreds of sweet faces.
A Soulumination session with a beautiful family.
Birthday celebration’s and dinner’s in my family.
And….
baseball,
softball
and soccer games for 5 of my grands that play.
So good, so thankful and so busy.
So excuse me if I haven’t posted for a bit. Somethings gotta give, right? :)

Sometimes at the end of a session a parent will ask me “do you think you got any good ones?”.

I always smile inside because I believe that they are thinking that their kids were a bit crazy or maybe they weren’t “behaving”. But here we he thing-thats just the way I like it.

My goal is for everyone to have fun and for the kids to be themselves, that’s the good stuff.

If parents meet their kids where they are, let go, be silly and have fun with them. Then the result will be a gallery full of joy filled photos and of course, a really sweet memory.

If you’ve been around a while you might already know this story, but here it is again.

Eight years ago I saw this family in Target. As I passed them I noticed all the little blonde cuties. I immediately thought, I would love to photograph this family.
After I got over my “oh this is awkward moment” I went back and introduced myself and told the mom my thought.

By the end of the conversation we hugged, made plans for a session and we have come together every year since.

Their family has grown. Yes, I still struggle keeping everyone’s names straight, but I always LOVE seeing them and I’m so thankful for our chance encounter.❤️

It’s been a long time since I posted. Social media content is a task that I wish I could delegate to somebody. But, it’s just me so, there’s that😂

I have officially entered my busiest season of the year. School photos, many family sessions and 3 grandkids playing softball and baseball. My calendar is crazy full, but it’s a good crazy full.

This is the time of year where I get to see my favorite families, and there are MANY. The ones that come back again and again and the ones that feel like I’m catching up with friends. I get to see the kids again and see how they’ve grown. It’s such a gift and I don’t take it for granted.

So, if I can’t get my act together on social media, I’m okay with it. There is something so much better going on around here, it’s just behind the scenes.

When it comes to photographing kids, I don’t know any other way than to make it fun.
Most everything is a game or an adventure.
If the kids are involved and happy the whole session is successful. And mom and dad are happy too.

When a family asks to do the session on their own property I’m down for it.
Of course I ask them to check on the lighting so we can choose the best timing.
But doing the session in your yard adds a personal touch that I love and it’s so very easy for you.
Do you have a pretty yard? You might want to consider it for your next photo shoot.

There’s nothing better in my business than seeing families again and again. They know my style. The kids remember me. There is an ease to the process. There’s no need to be “perfect” and most of all it’s like catching up with friends.
This family radiates love and fun and they always rock their clothes! Love them!
