s 2 things for me it allows me to get my designs out there for everyone to see and love (i.e. the design part of my name) it also allows me to explore the world of photography (i.e. the studio part), now I will be the first to tell you that I am by NO means a professional photographer and will never claim to be. I do believe it is a true art and like one of my sons favorite movies says (this is not originally about photography but I do believe it can be used here too) "Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere." I do believe I can/will one day study photography in depth but my life right now is too crazy for me to be able to juggle that as well.
