Mother’s Day has a way of bringing a lot of things to the surface.

Gratitude.
Memories.
And sometimes, a quiet realization that time is moving faster than we’d like.

Most families have plenty of photos with their mom.
But not many that truly reflect who she is.

What she loves.
How she spends her time.
The life she’s built over the years.

And those are the images that end up meaning the most later.

So this week, I just want to gently say this:

If you’ve ever thought
“We should really do something meaningful for her someday…”

Every year, families think they have more time than they do.
And every year, the most requested dates fill first.
What matters even more than timing is this:

Senior photos shouldn’t feel like a copy-and-paste experience.

They should feel like your senior: their personality, their style, the things that make them, them.

I work with families all across the KC area to create sessions that feel relaxed, guided, and actually enjoyable (yes, even for the ones who swear they’ll hate it).

I’m creating a conceptual portrait for an upcoming photography competition, and I’m looking for the right person to collaborate with.

This image will be inspired by classical painted portraits: timeless, painterly, and deeply intentional, with a modern element woven into the story.

I’m looking for:
• A woman age 70+
• Someone comfortable in a quiet, guided studio setting
• No modeling experience needed. . .I’ll guide you through everything

I’m especially drawn to women who have embraced their natural aging; gray or silver hair, expressive lines, and a face that tells a story.

This will be a styled studio session focused on artistry and storytelling.

In exchange for modeling, you’ll receive:
• A finished portrait from the session
• A meaningful, one-of-a-kind experience
• The opportunity to be part of a competition image

My dad was a photographer, but I don’t have many photos of him that feel like HIM. that’s something I see a lot. With Morher’s Day and Father’s Day coming up, it’s a good reminder; not just to celebrate someone, but to really see them, and preserve who they are right now.
