Meet Professor Gilbert Theodore Mellark aka Gilbert aka Gil. 😍

One day, your friend says, “Hey, do you want a farm kitten?” and you find yourself obsessed before even meeting him. Then, you hold him for the first time and spiral deeply in love.

Gilbert is rambunctious, silly, and the sweetest little cuddler. He is very vocal and purrs a lot. He and Penny love to chase each other around the room. We all adore him! 🥰

(well, we have yet to see what our senior cat, Keyser thinks, so send good vibes)

📣 Important Announcement 📣

I’ve decided to take a step back from my photography business. This was not a decision I made lightly—if I’d truly listened to myself, I probably would have done it a while ago.

I’ve struggled with the pressure of feeling like I’m not doing enough in my business and the guilt of not being fully present with my family. Even my “time off” was consumed by the thought that I should be posting more, planning more, doing more.

It’s time for me to choose what’s best for my family and myself. I will be finishing up all current clients and contracts I have on the books.

I’m so grateful for the beautiful people I’ve had the privilege of working with over the past 14 years. My heart isn’t broken by this decision, but there is sadness in letting go of something I’ve loved for so long. Thank you for your support and for loving my work. ❤️

I’m not sure what the future holds for my photography—or even this space on social media. But that’s part of the beauty: the unknown. What I do know is that I have the support of a wonderful family, and there’s no one else I’d rather have on this adventure. 🫶🏻

Hi! I’m Anna.

It’s been a bit since I introduced myself, so I thought it was time for a re-introduction.

I’m a personal brand photographer + family photographer in Sioux Falls, SD. I help small business owners create brand photos that feel like them—intentional, beautiful, and true to their vibe.
I also make sure moms get in the memory—not just behind the camera (because I know how that goes).

A few things to know about me:

📚 I’m a lifelong book lover. I read them, hoard them, and smell them. (Fiction—bonus points for dystopian, but I love a good celebrity memoir too.)

🧊 I love iced matcha lattes. My favorite right now is with brown sugar cinnamon flavoring and cold foam.

📋 I believe confidence is built with a good plan and just going for it.

🫶🏻 I’m a Swiftie. She’s a poet, she’s a queen, she’s an icon.

☺️ I’m an introvert, learning to push myself to be vulnerable and brave.

🐾 I have a small dog named Penny who steals the show. She makes appearances in my stories and in my personal brand photos. (She’s the cutest.)
