Curious on how to view lent as a preparation and a foretaste of marriage? Swipe for some ideas on how to incorporate the three lenten pillars into your engagement and wedding day!

Prayer, fasting and almsgiving are usually not the first things that come to mind when thinking of weddings and marriage, and Lent can seem incongruent with the feasting and great joy of a wedding. But looking beyond face value, they are more connected than they seem. Lent is a preparational season for the death and resurrection of Christ, and engagement is a period of preparation just the same; when you prepare intentionally for marriage, it allows you to enter into your wedding day confident and even more joyful, knowing you have done the best you can to start your marriage on a firm foundation.
