I’m INCREDIBLY honored to share that my piece, “Blush of the Badlands,” was selected for the South Dakota State Art Collection through the Art for State Buildings program.

Out of work submitted by 50 artists across the state, 10 pieces were selected to become part of the permanent public collection displayed in South Dakota government buildings.

As someone who spends so much time exploring and photographing the landscapes of this state, it means a lot to have one of my images chosen to help represent South Dakota’s environment, culture, and natural beauty in this way.

Photography has taken me to some incredible places, but there’s something especially meaningful about creating work close to home and knowing it will become part of a collection that people will experience for years to come.

Very grateful for this opportunity and excited to see “Blush of the Badlands” installed later this summer.

You’ve probably never heard the term “dancing trees” before, and before this trip, neither had I. But deep in the swamps of Texas and Louisiana, during the peak of fall colors, the trees along the edge of the lake dance and show off their beautiful fall colors. It might be a very chilly morning, but for a few moments, you get lost in their trance and everything just falls together.

Closing out the Alcove exhibition with one LAST get together from 3–7 PM. If you’ve been meaning to stop by, this is your last chance to see the space as it is.

I’ll have drinks, a charcuterie board, and I’m doing 10% off all prints.

Come hang out, bring someone with you, and spend some time in the space before it comes down.

I’ve got the Alcove space for a couple more weeks, and I don’t want to waste it.

So I’m throwing ONE more get-together on April 26th from 3–7 PM, a closing reception before the exhibition comes down.

If you haven’t seen it yet, this is your last chance to experience the space as it is now. And if you made it to the opening… come hang out again and bring someone new with you!
