Spent an evening on the Moes farm. They wanted to pick a location that meant something to their family— they chose the family farm. A blue sky, green corn stalks, fluffy white clouds, grain bins, tractors and farming machinery, complimented with a warm sunset. A classic evening in the midwest.

This land means the world to this family and that’s precisely why this session feels a little magical.

👋 Hi it’s me, Elizabeth🫶🏼
I'm the girl behind the camera. I love seeing beauty in the mundane, chasing light, and spending time with people. Photography is a blend of all three!

I have been a photographer since 2011-- and have learned (quite a bit) since then.

Random things about me:
-I like to listen to physical media (vinyl records/ CDs) while editing

-During movies, I am constantly analyzing the angles, lighting, and framing. Sometimes so much that I forget to pay attention to the movie--ha! (drop your movie recommendations in the comments)

-I crave making art. (I always have some kind of project on my desk).

-It is always time for blueberry tea

-I love taking photography classes from

-It's cliche, but I love travel

-I have two girlies and a boy on the way

-We are raising our kids bilingually. I have been learning spanish for the last 11 years and can finally confidently say that I am fluent 😊

-I have done photo sessions for Spanish, English, and French speaking people. I sadly don't speak French, but love and beauty speaks for us! I don't let language barriers stop us from documenting your beautiful life!

-I am a proud owner of a "free little library" because I believe everyone can love reading, some just haven't found their favorite book yet

-My eyebrow makeup erases slowly during a photo session no matter how hard I try.. so next time we are in a session, watch my right eyebrow disappear haha

-My photo sessions are laidback. Consider me your artist and friend. My number one goal is that you feel confident and beautiful in your own skin surrounded by the people you love

15 years ago Talia and Robert asked me to take their engagement photos. I had barely even touched a camera before. But they told me they saw potential and trusted me that I would be the woman for the job. So I took a leap, picked up my dad's work camera, and spent the day creating images for them. We took photos all over the city, but my favorite places were the skatepark and a corner diner.

That session started my career. I have learned so much since then. Fast forward fifteen years and now they have two incredible daughters. Talia reached out to take family photos and we decided to revisit the same locations we did their engagement photos in. *melt my heart*

Nostalgia. Reminiscing. Gratitude. Love. Lots of emotions were expressed. This family trusted me so many years ago and honestly changed my life. I am so grateful they saw the potential in me. I wouldn't be the same person without photography in my life!

Hold your babies extra tight. Play with them. Let them get dirty. Watch them experience the world around them. Hold their chubby hands. Don’t be afraid to wear bold colors. Seek connection, not perfection. And let the sun shine on your family's story.

These are all part of my philosophy when I photograph your family.

So grateful for the for setting this session up and inspiring so many creatives! Shout out to .santalaphotography for being willing to model for 12+ photographers at the same time.

What if your family photos felt like a story? Documenting a family in their own home is magical. Kids are comfortable, toys and snacks are easily accessible, dance parties in the kitchen are always encouraged. The place they you are raising your family means so much to your story. No need for a perfectly clean house, just get ready to be present and play with your kids. I’d love to document connection and love in your space where your family feels cozy. Y’all stay home next time we schedule family photos and I’ll come be a fly on the wall to document it. You’ll never regret a session like this.

I’ve been experimental with my personal work lately: color grading, grain, tones, shadows and light. Pushing myself to explore and letting things be imperfect is freeing. I’m grateful to have the ability to create, adapt, and grow. I love being an artist.
