Flavia Vianna Photography Family and Pet Photographer in the Toronto area. I am passionate about everything I do. I love traveling, meeting people and learning new cultures.

The beauty and spontaneity in relationships between humans or humans and their animals inspire me.

My photos captivate carefree families who are looking to preserve their moments together over the years. I love to photograph 2-legged and 4-legged families. Photos of family and pets are my passion, and lifestyle photography is my expertise.

e a fly on the wall, so you can quickly forget there’s someone there with a camera. I will then photograph your family’s real and unique personality in a meaningful and artistic way.

My goal is to provide you with a collection of images that genuinely and romantically portray you and your loved ones. Some of them will look like behind the scenes shots of a day in your family’s life. You will see what no studio session is capable of showing: the beauty of those moments that are usually taken for granted but missed the minute they’re gone.

They grow up so fast, and before we know it, those chubby cheeks and curious eyes are just a memory. 💛

Photos help us freeze time, so we can always look back and remember their little poses, favorite toys, and the way they used to light up the room.

Each image tells your family’s story, one beautiful chapter at a time. 📷✨

Maternity photos are all about documenting a moment you’ll never experience in the same way again. The changes, the anticipation, the calm before everything shifts.

It’s a chance to slow down and remember what this season looked and felt like.

If you’re expecting, I’d love to help you capture this chapter in a way that feels true to you.

Happy 4th of July from my favorite global citizen, Juvenal!✨

You can tell that Juvenal is fully embracing his American spirit today, but his journey to this cozy spot in South Carolina is quite the epic tale.

Back in 2011, this handsome guy was just a vulnerable 3-month-old kitten, dumped in front of a friend’s apartment building in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I made one of the best decisions of my life and adopted him, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

Fast forward 15 years, and Juvenal has become quite the seasoned traveler! In 2017, we left Rio and set off on an North American adventure, moving first to the bustling streets of NY, then crossing borders to Toronto, Canada, before finally making our way down south to settle right here in Greenville County.

He’s now spent more than half of his life in North America, and at this point he is bilingual, responding to both Portuguese and English (depending entirely on his mood and what treats are involved, of course).

From a tiny rescue on the streets of Rio to a sophisticated, flag-snuggling Southern gentleman, he’s proof that home isn’t just a place, it’s wherever we are together.

Wishing you all a wonderful, safe, and happy Independence Day from our little family to yours! ❤️🤍💙

Sometimes, the best way to frame a subject is to use the elements around them to add depth, create layers, and naturally draw your eye right to that joyful, candid expression.

When it comes to pet photography, you have to be ready to work with whatever nature throws at you, whether it's a perfectly placed branch, a sudden burst of energy, or a wagging tail that refuses to sit still!

Behind the scenes of a pet photographer: Expect the unexpected, embrace the chaos, and always be ready to capture the magic. 🐾✨

Pet photography is a beautiful lesson in patience, flexibility, and framing. Our furry clients don’t follow directions, don’t care about lighting grids, and definitely won’t hold a pose on command. Instead, they give us something much better: authentic personality.

You’ll see exactly what I mean when you swipe through these photos. Some moments (and some pets!) call for a wide perspective, using negative space to capture a serene, cinematic slice of life, like a pup soaking in a sun-drenched field. Other pets pull you right into their world, focusing entirely on a curious gaze, the soft texture of their fur, or a sleepy afternoon nap tucked away in their favorite corner.

Whether they are staring directly into the lens with fierce intensity, exploring the great outdoors, or just lounging like royalty on the furniture, every single pet tells a completely different story depending on their personality and how you frame it. It’s all about finding that split second where their true spirit shines through.

Which vibe speaks to you more?

"Our house is too small." / "It’s not stylish enough for a photoshoot."

When clients hesitate to book an in-home session because their space doesn't look like an interior design magazine, I always remind them that their home is the stage for their real life, it shouldn’t be a showroom.

When we do a lifestyle session in your living room or kitchen, your house naturally softens into a beautiful, warm blur in the background. The focus stays entirely on you and your connection.

More importantly, the quirks of your current home are a physical part of this chapter in your life. The favorite worn-out spot on the couch, the way the light hits the kitchen floor in the afternoon, the space where your family actually lives—these details matter.

Years down the road, you won't care if a room was perfectly decorated. You will look at that photo and instantly remember the exact warmth, sound, and true vibe of the home where your memories were built.

Let’s preserve your story exactly as it is right now. Let's book your next intimate in-home session.

Sometimes, the closer you get, the more of the story you reveal.

While negative space gives an image room to breathe, a true tight close-up forces you to stop and look reality right in the eye.

In professional photography, eliminating the background distraction means there is nowhere to hide. Every fine detail, the catchlight in the eyes, the subtle texture of the skin or fur, a fleeting flicker of emotion, becomes the entire world of the frame. It transforms a simple portrait into an intense, raw, and deeply personal connection between the subject and the viewer.

It’s not just about taking a picture; it's about capturing a soul in high definition.

After my last post about breathing room, let’s flip the perspective: Do you prefer the quiet drama of negative space, or are you drawn to the raw intensity of a macro close-up?

Sometimes, what you leave out of a photograph is just as important as what you leave in.

In professional photography, we call this Negative Space: the empty area surrounding the main subject.

It might seem counterintuitive to leave a large part of the frame empty, but it actually draws the viewer's eye directly to the subject's expression, giving the image room to breathe and creating a sense of quiet, cinematic drama.
It’s a deliberate composition choice that elevates a simple portrait into a piece of art.

Do you prefer tight close-ups, or do you love portraits with a bit of dramatic breathing room?

Every pet deserves a chance at love, safety, and a place to call home. ❤️
Adopting means giving an animal a new chapter, one filled with care, routine, and a family to belong to.

If you’ve ever considered it, shelters and rescues are full of pets waiting for exactly that. Maybe your new best friend is already there, hoping for a fresh start.

Same moments, entirely different vibes. It all comes down to the angle. 📸

When I'm capturing a session, I’m constantly moving, crouching, and shifting my POV because a single change in perspective can completely alter the emotional impact of a image:

👉 High angles make us feel protective and intimate.
👉 Low angles create drama, wonder, and celebrate the grand scale of life.
👉 Straight-on, candid framing places us right in the room, making us feel the laughter and the love firsthand.

Photography is all about showing people a familiar world from an unfamiliar angle. ✨
