Gorgeous pups alert 🐾 I’m still working my way through this gallery, but I had to share a few favorites right away because these sweet faces are just too good not to post.

Lightning fast and equipped with approximately 42 tiny razor blades. But somehow they still manage to look like absolute angels when the batteries finally run out.

Recharge now.
Resume ankle chomping shortly. 🐾

There’s nothing like a black dog in a field of green. Black dogs are notoriously difficult to photograph so I love it when our beautiful spring grasses serve to complement a shiny black coat.

This is Zeus, an 11-year-old lab mix with a heart of gold and a perpetual smile on his face. He loved exploring beautiful Limekiln Canyon Park and frolicking after his ball in the creek… and I loved giving his mom cherished memories of her beloved boy.

Enjoying my journey of photographing both people and dogs. This little red haired cutie was on the move constantly… which was both wonderful and challenging. Basically, I followed her around with my camera, clicking away and am still going through the 1,400 photos. I do have a tendency to have a trigger finger so as not to miss a moment.
I found two magical moments to quickly share. I love capturing the pure essence of a smile.

I waited for Cash and his family to arrive at the park for his “end of life” photos… always both heart breaking and rewarding to me. I feel blessed to provide lasting photographic memories of someone’s beloved pet and although emotions can run high, I love witnessing the bond between owner and dog. Plus I have a soft spot for seniors.

This is only my 4th time photographing a pet as an end of life tribute. Most of the time they are pretty mellow and maybe already feel slow and not at their best. I knew Cash had just recently undergone chemotherapy treatment due to the cancer that has invaded his body. But I did not expect this happy dog with a life-is-still-good attitude to show up at the park, ready to enthusiastically eat every treat I offered. I’m glad that I got to meet Cash on what appeared to be a very good day for him.
We took the family photos and the photos of just him, and of course the photos of him and his mom and their special relationship. And while we added some black and whites, it’s the last photo in this set (and actually the first photo I took of the day) that I love most… the one where he is poking out from amidst the beautiful green bushes and purple flowers.
I think that, for that moment, we just see a happy vibrant dog at the park and it reminds us all to see beauty everywhere and to live each day thinking life is still awesome.

I was so happy to spend an evening with Sunny and his mom. I’ve known Sunny for years, right after his amazing owners rescued him.
Sunny came with some issues… mistreated, escape artist, didn’t do well with other dogs (still doesn’t), anxious.
But you wouldn’t know it from the smile on his face! That’s because he knows he is well loved.

Happy birthday, Sunny! I couldn’t think of anything better than to gift your mom pictures of her beautiful boy.

Just a little quickie backyard session with this cutie before she joined my Puppy Socialization class. Black dogs are hard to photograph… especially when their eyes are pools of delicious dark chocolate that you want to melt in.

It was a pleasure to witness the bonding and training her owner has already established… as well as how well Kona played with others. This girl is a going to win over some hearts. She won mine.

This boy is always a favorite to photograph. Not only is he incredibly smart… you can literally talk to him like a human and he seems to understand everything… but he’s patient and willing, sometimes serious, sometimes goofy. And I’m lucky enough to be able to take him on outings and adventures often.

I actually have not seen him since this picture was taken in November, while I was checking out a new location.
I will be taking him out again soon so hope you all enjoy pictures of Bodhi as you will continue to see him often.

Warning… these are not dog pics and the only animal is a stuffed one. 😂

Just continuing to play around with some human subjects. Kids and dogs… both unpredictable and fun and silly.

I’ll be posting more kid, family and fine art photography at .
