52 years ago today the Wilderness Act was signed into law protecting the places we love. Today over 100 million acres are set aside as Wilderness areas. Tickled Trails got to spend the week enjoying a few of those acres. From the Act itself, “A wilderness, in contrast with those areas where man and his own works dominate the landscape, is hereby recognized as an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain.”
