Our summer road trip has officially begun. šŸš—ā˜€ļø

So far we’ve explored the Great Smoky Mountains, The Lost Sea, Pensacola Beach, El Campo, and now Port Aransas, Texas. Every stop has been an adventure, but this one was extra special.

Our first ferry ride, dolphins swimming just feet away, pelicans, jellyfish, and the freedom of parking right on the beach. 🌊

The best part? Making these memories with friends who have truly become family. We may not have blood relatives in Texas, but we definitely have family here. ā¤ļø

Just a reminder to take that road trip or vacation—you can’t get these years back.

This is only the beginning—I can’t wait to share more of our favorite stops with you.

The photo session was one hour.

The editing… considerably longer. šŸ˜‚

For this session, I captured 665 images and narrowed them down to 96 for the proof gallery.

The best part? The final choices are in my clients’ hands. šŸ¤

They get to view their gallery, heart their favorite images, and choose the photos they love most based on their package.

Then I hand-edit their selections and deliver a final gallery ready for downloads, sharing, and prints.

This is what happens after your family session. šŸ“ø

My clients always recognize me… but there’s always that tiny fear they’ll walk right past me. šŸ˜‚

Who needs a quiet family photo session when you have fake sneezes and a baby giving me the ā€œwhat is she doing?ā€ look? šŸ˜‚

I’m never shy about being silly because family sessions should be fun!

Whether it’s sneezing, playing peekaboo, making animal noises, or dancing behind the camera, I’ll do whatever it takes to help little ones feel comfortable during their family photos.

My goal isn’t perfection. It’s creating a relaxed experience where kids can be themselves and families can enjoy the moment. ā¤ļøšŸ“ø

And honestly… being the entertainment is one of my favorite parts of being a family photographer.

A few weeks ago in El Salvador, my talented photographer friend had me in front of the camera.

And yes… I said it.

ā€œMake me look skinny.ā€ šŸ˜‚

As a Maryland family photographer, I hear comments like that all the time. As someone standing in front of the camera, I completely understand them.

I felt awkward.
I felt silly.
I overthought every pose.

And I still had so much fun.

So here’s your reminder to get in the photo:

✨ You don’t have to earn the right to be remembered.

✨ The version of you showing up today is already worthy of being celebrated.

✨ One day you’ll wish you had more photos, not fewer.

So take the trip.
Try something new.
Say yes to the experience.
Get in the photo.

Life isn’t waiting for us to become a different version of ourselves before it starts creating beautiful memories.

And honestly? Neither should we. ā¤ļø

P.S. If you’ve never heard me speak Spanish before… here’s my Salvadoran accent. šŸ‡øšŸ‡»

When your client hires a photographer… but Grandpa is also a photographer. šŸ“øšŸ˜‚

One of my favorite things about family sessions is being welcomed like family.

Within minutes, we were laughing, sharing stories, and enjoying the afternoon together. I got a little glimpse into the beautiful love this family has for one another, and those are the moments that stay with me long after the session is over.

I love when a session feels less like work and more like spending time with people you’ve known forever.

Thank you for trusting me with these memories, welcoming me into your family’s story, and laughing at my silly jokes along the way. ā¤ļø

The photos are beautiful, but the connections behind them are what I’ll remember most.

I almost said no today.

Too much to do. Too many responsibilities. Too many reasons to wait.

But childhood doesn’t wait.

So we laced up our skates, spent time together, and made another memory.

I’m learning that being a good mom isn’t about putting yourself last all the time. Sometimes it’s about inviting your kids into the things that bring you joy.

A little reminder for the moms: What is one hobby, passion, or activity you love that your kids could join you in?

Maybe it’s skating, hiking, baking, photography, gardening, road trips, or simply exploring somewhere new together.

Your kids don’t just need a mom who takes care of everyone else. They benefit from seeing a mom who enjoys life, tries new things, and creates memories alongside them.

I hope our kids remember how much we enjoyed their childhood. šŸ„¹ā¤ļø
