A quiet walk. Beautiful architecture. A little greenery. A private pier. The beach just a few steps away.

That’s what caught my attention during this session at The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort.

What I like most isn’t any one particular spot - it’s how many different looks you can get without ever leaving the property. Within a short walk, you can move from elegant architecture to a beach atmosphere, then to the pier, and create a completely different feel in your photos.

This session was simple, relaxed, and natural - just two people enjoying time together while I documented a small piece of their story.

I’ll probably share a few more sessions from this location in the coming weeks, including family photos. There are still a few corners of this property I’d like to show through different types of sessions.

One of the cloudiest evenings on Siesta Key - and it still had its own beauty.

We didn’t get the full sunset this time. The sun stayed hidden, but one little ray still found us. And honestly, that was enough.

The mood was special, the evening was soft, and the memories are here now - just like always.

Senior season 🎓
There’s this specific feeling right before everything changes. You’re not quite done with one chapter, and the next one hasn’t started yet. That in-between moment is exactly what I want to capture.
Senior photos aren’t really about the outfit or the location — they’re about who you are right now. Before college, before the move, before all of it. And honestly, those sessions are some of my favorites to shoot — because at that age, personality just comes through naturally. No overthinking, no stiff poses. Just real.

Not every beach family session starts on the beach.

This part of the session happened just a minute from the sand - on a quiet path with soft greenery, sea oats, and a completely different mood.

That is one of my favorite things about family photography in Sarasota: sometimes the best images come before we even step onto the shoreline. A calmer spot like this gives everyone a chance to settle in, especially little kids. Parents relax, the child gets comfortable with the camera, and the photos start to feel natural right away.

Then, a minute later, we were already at the water for a completely different look and story - but that part comes next.

This is exactly why I love creating family photos in Sarasota and Siesta Key family sessions that feel like more than one background and more than one repeated pose. In one shoot, we can build variety, movement, soft portraits, real connection, and a full story your family will actually want to remember.

I asked him to listen to her belly. It did not go as planned 🤰😂
You know that classic maternity pose - dad leans in, listens to the bump, everyone gets emotional? Yeah. That’s not what happened here.
The second he got close, they both lost it. Pure laughter. And honestly? That’s the shot I kept reaching for the rest of the session.
Because the best maternity photos aren’t the ones where everyone’s looking serenely into the sunset. Those are beautiful too - and yes, swipe through, the silhouette shots speak for themselves. But the frame I love most is the one where they couldn’t stop laughing.
Twenty years from now, that’s the photo their kid will point to and say “this is so them.” Swipe to 2 and 3 — you’ll get it 😄​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Anna Maria Island family photo session.
A relaxed beach session with a family of four - walking, running, jumping, watching pelicans, and enjoying a simple evening on the Florida coast.
Not every family session needs to be heavily posed. Sometimes the best photos come from movement, real interaction, and giving kids space to be themselves.

Swipe to the last one. Trust me 😄🎂
This family came to Sarasota on vacation — and happened to be celebrating one of the kids’ birthdays while they were here. So they did what any great parents would do: showed up with a whole setup. A little photo zone, right there on the beach. Personal, thoughtful, and honestly really fun to shoot.
In one hour we covered everything — the setup, a beach walk, the water, the chaos, the joy.
The last photo is something else. I saved it for a reason. Keep swiping.

And here’s a thought — birthdays, first steps, a family trip, just a random Tuesday in summer — any moment can become the moment with a little intention behind it. You don’t need an elaborate setup. A few personal details and the right light do the rest.
