Most senior guys don’t want to stand in front of a camera and repeat the same poses everyone else has done.

And they shouldn’t have to.

If your son thinks senior pictures are going to be awkward, Jack’s session might change his mind.

One of the reasons I built JM Peters Photography around senior guys and senior athletes is that guys deserve a senior portrait experience that actually feels like it was created for them. Jack’s session gave us the opportunity to show several different sides of who he is.

We created polished portraits in a suit, incorporated soccer into his senior pictures, moved into a modern Houston setting for a more editorial look, and finished with relaxed portraits in beautiful golden light. The result isn't ten versions of the same senior picture. It's a collection that feels like him.

That matters because senior year is more than a school milestone. For parents, it marks this incredibly short window between the boy you've raised and the young man getting ready for whatever comes next.

My goal with every senior portrait session is to create images that make a senior guy stop and see himself differently—confident, strong and proud of who he has become.

The best senior portraits don’t start with a pose. They start with who your son is.

Years from now, you’ll want to remember more than what he looked like during senior year. You’ll want to remember what he loved. What he spent his time doing. His style. His personality. The things that made him him at this particular moment in his life.

For this senior, music needed to be part of the story. We created everything from polished portraits with his acoustic guitar against a Houston sunset to a completely different, edgier look with his electric guitar in an urban setting. And that variety is intentional.

A senior portrait experience should give a guy room to be himself, not force him into somebody else’s version of what senior pictures are supposed to look like.

Senior year is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone. These portraits should celebrate the young man your son has become and give your family something meaningful to hold onto long after graduation.

Your son is more than the one photo they take for the yearbook.

J.T.’s senior session is a pretty great example of why I believe that. He’s a musician. He’s an athlete. He can pull off jeans and a guitar just as naturally as a suit and sunglasses in downtown Houston. So his senior portraits needed room for all of it.

We created a session that moved from the Houston skyline and city architecture to volleyball, guitars, a sharp suit, and one pretty spectacular sunset. But my favorite part isn’t the variety. It’s that through all those different looks, J.T. still looks like J.T.

That matters to me.

Senior year marks a big transition in a young man’s life. These portraits aren't just about documenting what he looked like. They’re an opportunity to celebrate his personality, his interests, and the confidence he’s grown into along the way. And someday, these are the photographs his family will have to remember this version of him.
