Highway 50 Wagon Train

Another wagon rolls west beneath the snow-capped Sierra.

Every wagon on the Highway 50 Wagon Train has its own story, but they all share one thing in common—the incredible horses and dedicated people who keep this living piece of history moving forward year after year.

As I stood along the highway watching wagon after wagon pass against the backdrop of the Tahoe mountains, I couldn't help but think about the generations who traveled these same mountains in search of a new life and new opportunities.

Today, those journeys are remembered through the commitment of volunteers, teamsters, riders, and families who work tirelessly to preserve this tradition.

A moving reminder that history isn't just something we read about—sometimes it rolls right past us.

I'm just starting to work on the photos from my workshop on the Bonneville Salt Flats with Panoptic Photography Workshops. Here are a few photos from the first day. Amazing location, amazing workshop, amazing models - all making for a great three day event!

I did a really cool thing yesterday - ok, honestly it was kinda hot, but still cool. I went to see some really cool Newfies practice water rescue. I took some photos - I know - SURPRISE, duh! Anyhow, I made a video for my new Newfie friends.

Why do I love pet/dog photography? Because of days like the one in the pictures below. This composite kind of says it all, but I love capturing the essence of what makes a pet such a joy, and if I'm patient enough with a little luck, I get that and more. I love when you can see the connection between pets and their people as well as the unique qualities that make us love these wonderful companions.

Here's Beau and Leia in a composite that I think shows all of the above.

🐾 Feeling incredibly fortunate to live in a place where friends celebrate dogs as much as others celebrate kids! 🎉 Recently had a blast doing a maternity shoot for the lovely Dogue De Bordeaux, Princess Leia. 🤰🐶 Who says only humans get maternity photoshoots? 😄

📸 The results are in, and I couldn't be more excited to share the most auspicious and adorable moments from this shoot. 🐕👑 Princess Leia is expecting her little bundles of joy within hours, and the anticipation is palpable!

🥳 Here's to the wonderful, silly, and dog-loving community that makes every photoshoot an absolute joy. 🐾💕 Cheers to celebrating our fur babies in style! 🎊 🐶📷

I'm starting to post pics from my recent kids camp at Comp K9 Training Center on Sunday. We had some great kids at this event, and I was able to capture a few portraits of Ann McQuillen's and Kids Camp volunteer and good friend Kim James' dog Harmony too. We had some fun.
