Hi! I’m back, & hopefully better than ever! We had the most AMAZING weekend! Fox yesterday, along with a ton of birds, & then today… incredible! We went out north of Sheridan & saw White-faced Ibis, so I was trying to get some decent shots, but it wasn’t easy… they were a fair distance, the lighting was BLAH, it was super windy, & cold! We were just getting ready to leave when I saw white wings! I jumped out & was stunned by this beautiful white & bluish-grey bird, that landed with the Ibis! While getting pictures, I kept thinking how much it looked like a heron… perhaps a leucitic heron? But it was so small… so I was resigned to the conclusion of a Snowy Egret. It took flight & was coming up & across the road, & my camera froze up! GAH! Instead, I almost got a picture of my friend, Sue, who had pulled up! 🤣🤣 I looked up Heron, & saw the Little Blue Heron, but that seemed highly unlikely, as they aren’t found around here in north-east Wyoming / southern Montana (I guess I should know better by now!). Sue & I both came to the conclusion of a Snowy Egret, & she sent it to a source for confirmation. Then she tells me that confirmed it WAS a Little Blue Heron! OMG! So I wanted to share with you my pictures. I wish they were better, but I’ll take what I can get right now! 😁 I am also including more pictures of the Ibis, & will soon post pictures of fox kits, & hopefully my Sandhill Crane mating dance! Stay tuned! 🤍
