As "busy season" gears up for my fellow Indiana photographers, that means many of my beloved Indiana families are starting to wonder and plan their own family sessions. Some families love capturing their loves in the same place each year- watching them grow through the years and through my lens is really special. Other families love to shake things up, brainstorm new ideas that give mom those gorgeous photos and connections she yearns for, and keeps kids engaged and dad not miserable (iykyk). I can suggest a dozen beautiful parks and areas in the Indy area (we do nature really really well here), but my biggest piece of advice? Stay home. Stay where your family is comfortable. Where the dog can run. Where the kids can show off their favorite toys. The place you brought them home to as babies, that you raised them, love them, teach them.
Nothing is going to have more meaning for you than capturing the people you love, in the place you love most. It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be yours.
