Most people saw a creek. I saw a queen.

When the light hit the water during her maternity session, I knew exactly what this image wanted to become.

To every graduate I've had the honor of knowing this year—

Some of you are family. Some are friends of my family. Some are my clients' children. But right now, that's not how I see you.

Right now, I see you.

I see the milestones you've already captured and conquered long before this diploma. The hard days you pushed through. The moments no one saw. The quiet strength it took to get here. You've already proven so much.

But here's what I want you to hear, just you:

Now is the time to go conquer the world.

Step out onto that horizon and see what's out there for you. And when you go—because you will go—I need you to know something.

It is okay to be afraid.
It is okay to be scared.
It is okay to ask for help.
It is okay to stop and take a breather.

Just remember to carry on. To fulfill what you set out to be. To finish what you set out to do.

This isn't goodbye to who you've been. It's hello to who you're becoming.

I'm so proud of you. And I'll be right here, watching you take on the world.
