Fern the Photographer I love moments, the day to day, the quiet beauty in things that are often overlooked when life gets too loud. My work is rooted in presence.

Photographer, artist, and community builder in Sheboygan passionate about capturing beautiful moments while celebrating local art, local businesses, and the people who make this community special Photography isn’t my main job, but it is something I will always do. No matter where life takes me, you’ll likely find me wandering during sunrise or sunset, camera in hand, treating each scene as if I’ve never seen it before. I aim to capture how a moment felt to be there, the colors, the light, the stillness, and the emotion that lingers just beneath the surface. My editing style is intentional but restrained, shaped only to reflect memory rather than change it. I’m especially drawn to the everyday, the subtle beauty in familiar places, passing interactions, and quiet scenes that might otherwise go unnoticed. These are the moments that stay with me, and the ones I try to preserve through my work. I hope to one day move into large format print work, creating pieces that hold space in a more physical, lasting way. For now, I continue building that vision slowly, one image at a time. Photography will always be part of my life in some form. It’s how I process the world, how I understand it, and how I share it with others. I’m grateful for everyone who takes the time to see my work and give these moments a new life beyond when they were first captured. I can be a little quiet and awkward at times, but I care deeply about people and that honesty always finds its way into what I create. Thank you for being here friend

Happy Fourth of July Weekend!

For many people, holidays have become more about having the time off together with your family/community rather than solely focused on the celebration that first started them. Communal days where the beaches are filled, the sound of gatherings spill out into the streets and we collectively get to take a breath. When your friends and family are all off of work alongside you, giving everyone the opportunity to get together without the stress of matching often misaligned schedules

As we work more and are stretched thinner, these beautiful community days are fewer and farther between. Thank you to all the businesses closed during the holidays, choosing a good life over a day's business. I hope you have a fun and safe weekend, enjoying it with people you love in the community we share!
