A female figure is stationed at the doorway of this stone-and-thatched residence of reasonable proportions somewhere, around the turn of last century, in South Wales.

Capturing this tranquil and handsome scene of rural life was Bournemouth photographer Martin Ridley-this portrait forms part of the Martin Ridley Collection of images documenting parts of Welsh scenery and life from around 1900-1910, now found within the collection at the National Library of Wales.
