SENIOR HIGHLIGHT

I maybe a little (okay… a LOT 😂) late posting this one, but she is way too special not to get her own senior highlight! ❤️

I always love getting to spend time with this girl. Behind that beautiful smile is some serious grit, determination, and strength. She’s the kind of girl who, once she puts her mind to something, I have no doubt she’ll figure out a way to make it happen.

She has definitely become one of my favorites and getting to capture this season of her life was pretty special.

I am SO excited to see where life takes you and all the things you accomplish along the way. Keep that smile, keep that grit, and never lose the determination that makes you you. 🤍

Introducing something brand new at Taproot Barns Photography… Surprise Gift Sessions!

I have always loved capturing surprises—the genuine reactions, happy tears, laughter, and moments that can never be recreated. I also absolutely love photographing animals, so I decided: Why not combine the two things I’m most passionate about? ❤️📸🐾

Imagine telling your child they’re simply coming to the studio to take pictures with a puppy, kitten, bunny, or another sweet, fluffy animal. They cuddle it, laugh with it, and completely fall in love…

Then, right in the middle of the session, you reveal the biggest surprise:

“This isn’t just an animal you’re taking pictures with… it’s yours forever!” 🥹❤️

And I’ll be there to capture every second—the confusion, the realization, the tears, the giant smile, and that very first hug after they learn their new best friend is coming home with them.

These sessions will be all about preserving the kinds of moments you wish you could bottle up forever. Whether it’s a child receiving their first puppy, a teenager getting the horse they’ve always dreamed of, or a grown adult finally meeting the furry best friend they never expected…

Because let’s be honest, they definitely aren’t just for kids! I’m pretty sure plenty of adults would completely lose it over being surprised with a puppy, kitten, bunny, horse, or maybe even a fluffy Highland cow.

The animal must already be chosen, purchased, or adopted by the family—my job is to help you plan the surprise and beautifully capture the exact moment they find out it’s theirs forever.

This idea feels perfectly in theme with who I am and some of the things I love most: animals, photography, and capturing the meaningful moments that become part of a family’s story.

SENIOR HIGHLIGHT
Okay… I am REALLY late posting this one 😅📸 but there was no way I was letting this beautiful senior session stay hidden in my camera roll!

I was SOOO excited to get this gorgeous girl in front of my camera. She is obviously absolutely beautiful, and her personality shines oh sooo bright. 🤍 She has the sweetest, most contagious personality and is truly one of those people who just brings light wherever she goes.

I have no doubt she is going to do BIG things in this life, but even more than that, I know she will continue to be a light to the people around her along the way.

Better late than never, right?! 😂 Here are a few favorites from this beautiful senior’s session! 🤍📸

When asking AI what Taproot Barns Photography is.

Taproot Barns Photography is basically what happens when someone who already has way too much going on decides, “You know what I need? Another business.” 😂

But it fits.

Taproot Barns Photography isn’t really about perfectly posed people standing in perfect lighting looking perfectly perfect.

It’s about capturing the stuff people are actually going to miss someday.

The little girl hugging her horse around the neck.

The dirt flying around a barrel.

The terrified kid who finally gets brave enough to climb on.

The cowboy hanging on for dear life during mutton bustin’.

The sisters laughing when they were supposed to be posing.

The relationship between a horse and its person that somebody who isn’t a horse person might never completely understand.

Angel is behind the camera, which means there’s a pretty good chance she’s going to say, “Wait! Don’t move!” because she saw something nobody else noticed.

And she’s especially drawn to the candid moments—the expressions, connections, dirt, movement and emotion that make a photograph feel like a memory instead of just a picture.

She’s photographed rodeos and fairs, sporting events, seniors with their horses, families, kids, animals and plenty of moments where absolutely nobody cooperated.

Especially the animals.

Taproot Barns Photography also has a pretty unfair advantage:

The photographer understands horses.

So instead of wondering why your horse suddenly has his ears pinned in your beautiful $300 photo session, she’s probably making ridiculous noises, shaking something, repositioning everyone and attempting to convince a 1,200-pound animal that looking pleasant for approximately four seconds isn’t an unreasonable request.

But underneath the funny stuff, the purpose is pretty simple:

Life changes ridiculously fast.

Kids grow up.

Seasons end.

Horses get older.

Teams change.

Animals we thought we’d have forever eventually leave us.

And ordinary days become memories before we realize they were important.

Taproot Barns Photography exists to freeze a little piece of that.

Because someday, a photograph that cost $10 at a rodeo or came from an afternoon at the barn might become something you’d never sell for any amount of money.

It’s not really about taking pictures.

It’s about making sure some of the best parts of your life don’t disappear without leaving something behind. ❤️

I had such a great time capturing all of those brave kiddos, big smiles, and fun moments! I truly appreciate every single person who purchased pictures and supported my photography. It means more to me than you know!

Okay… I’m just going to say it 😅 I have been SO busy lately that I’ve been terrible about keeping up with posting on here 🙈📸

But behind the scenes, it’s been full speed ahead and I am so excited for all the spring sessions I have coming up! The warmer weather and golden sunsets are my FAVORITE time to shoot.
