Second guessing yourself can come at a cost!

This was really early in my trapping career and I had seen other trappers set scent post sets but I lacked confidence in them and felt that my odds were better off using the trap for a dirt-hole set.

I had talked to one of my buddies and told him “man, I found this log that would be perfect for a scent post. But I didn’t set it because I had another set 10yds away”

Unfortunately, not setting the trap was a hard lesson learned. 2 nights later his tracks were here, he walked right by the other sets and didn’t pay it any attention at all…

You live and you learn, trapping can have some tough learning curves! But boy oh boy is it fun!!

It’s no secret that nest predators are a HUGE problem for any ground nesting game birds.

Ever wonder why you heard more turkeys in the early 2000s? I definitely heard more turkeys growing up hunting with my dad than I do now. Here’s why, c**n hunting with hound dogs was a popular hobby back then.

C**n hunting➡️less racc**ns➡️more poults hatching

It’s that simple.

We put so much effort in hunting the amazing turkey, let’s make sure we give back to them this fall/winter by eliminating some nest predators! Yes, that includes opossums. They do NOT eat ticks.

This brown under-pan fiber is a GREAT way to keep dirt from getting under the trap pan.

I’ve used white fiber, peat moss, pan covers, under alls and this stuff right here trumps them all!!

If you’ve never used under-pan fiber, I HIGHLY recommend you give it a shot!

Small bag is great if you’re looking to test it out on your line this year.
Large bag is great if you’re a long line trapper and want to have PLENTY for the entire season.
