Baby Charlee understood the assignment and slept through basically her entire session.

Meanwhile, her mama and I sat there talking the whole time like we’d known each other forever. One of my favorite things about this job is that I get to meet so many incredible women and somehow a photo session turns into a full-on life update, mom chat, and friendship all wrapped into one.

Honestly, half the time I show up for the babies and stay for the conversations.

I get paid to snuggle newborns, create memories for families, and make new friends. Not a bad gig if you ask me. 🤎

A little life update because I've been pretty ghost lately.
Life has been life-ing.

🤍 We had a death in the family, so I took a couple days away to spend with family.

⚾ T-ball season started.

👶 Haisley has entered the "Mom must hold me 24/7 or I shall scream" phase. Apparently personal space is no longer a thing.

❤️ My husband has been helping a ton when he's home, but getting anything done lately has been... interesting.

📸 I also had the honor of staying up almost all night capturing a friend's labor & delivery and then her Fresh 48 the next day. What an incredible experience.

So if I've been slower than normal answering messages, editing, posting, or generally existing online, that's why.

I have sessions tomorrow and throughout the week, and galleries are about to start hitting inboxes as I play catch-up before deadlines catch up to me. 😅

Thank you all for your patience and understanding. If you need me, the fastest way to reach me as a current client is usually by text (if you have my number) or by replying to your session email thread.

Now excuse me while I answer messages with one hand and hold a toddler with the other. 🫠😂

tiny little details, sleepy stretches, and all the newborn snuggles lately ☼

i’ve really been loving how these sessions have been feeling in the studio lately. calm, cozy, baby-led, and just documenting everyone together in this new little season of life. honestly some of my favorite galleries to deliver lately ✧

most newborn sessions are best within the first 3 weeks, but these cuddle-style studio sessions can still work so well even if baby is a little older. every baby is different and i never stress too much over exact timing.

i only take a limited number of newborns each month so i can keep room open around due dates because babies obviously make their own schedules ⋒ some months fill faster than others though, especially fall babies.

⋒ sweet little newborn sneak peek from today ☼

This little guy was originally supposed to have a labor + delivery session, but plans changed quickly and mama ended up needing a C-section unexpectedly. Thankfully both mom + baby are doing great now, and honestly that’s all that matters in the end 🤍

Since we missed their birth story coverage, they now get to tell their story a little differently — through five mini sessions over baby’s first year, starting with today’s newborn session ✧
And let me tell you… this tiny man was not overly impressed with my camera today. 😂

But somehow we still managed to get this absolute gem and I’m already obsessed.

I can’t wait to finish the rest of this gallery for mom, but here’s just a little sneak peek for now ☼
