This blog post has been sitting on my to-do list for months, but I finally had a chance to share our 13th anniversary trip to Barbados! ❤️ A little peek at our getaway, complete with a surprise room upgrade, lots of delicious food, and a couple of heart-shaped clouds!

There’s something really humbling about making a living doing something where every dollar comes from someone choosing you.

Every inquiry, every booking, every referral, every time someone tells a friend, “You need to use Ashley,” is a little reminder that someone chose to spend their hard-earned money on something I created.

It feels extra special to be voted Selma’s Best Photographer this year! Thank you for choosing me to capture all of your important memories. 🫶🏼

Since it’s spooky season, I thought I’d share a few things photographers are scared of:
1. It only takes a few seconds to straighten a photo and it looks so much better!
2. Photos are meant to be printed and enjoyed. Please don’t let all those beautiful photos live exclusively on your phone. 😭
3. I CAN edit it later, but it adds extra time to my workload.
4. I don’t mind the occasional blur to show movement, but intentionally blurry photos? Absolutely terrifying. I’ve spent over a decade perfecting my skills to get tack-sharp photos, so I want your images to actually be sharp!
5. It’s never just one photo. 😂
6. Downloaded photos are much higher resolution than screenshots. Your photographer worked hard on those pixels. Please give them a chance to live their best life!
7. Sometimes the Instagram crop ruins the photo 🫠
