We had to make a trip to Montgomery for Camrynā€™s uniform fitting, so we turned it into our purple date! šŸ’œšŸ’œšŸ’œ

We started at Newtopia, grabbed dinner at Chick-fil-A, and wrapped up the evening with all things purple at Starbucks. The kids got Tropical Butterfly Lemonade Refreshers, Weston went with berry matcha, and I had to try the ube cold foam.

Camryn loved her drink, but poor Collin is now 0 for 2 on color date drinks. šŸ˜‚ Maybe next monthā€™s color will finally be his lucky one!

Keeping bridal portraits under wraps is always one of the hardest parts of wedding season! We took Graceā€™s stunning bridal portraits several weeks ago and Iā€™ve been counting down the days until I could finally share them. Now that she's married, here are a couple of my favorites! šŸ¤©

Fifteen years ago, I took a leap of faith and started a photography business.

What started as a hobby turned into something I never could have imagined. My grandparents gifted me the camera that I wanted to photograph my artwork. Within a couple of months, I started photographing people as a fundraiser for a mission trip to Belize. I fell in love with photographing people and their stories, which became the foundation of my career.

One of my sweet repeat clients asked me recently if I knew how many weddings and sessions I had photographed over the years. I sat down this week and added them up:
šŸ©·132 weddings
šŸ©·1,190 portrait sessions

Thatā€™s 1,322 stories!

What those numbers donā€™t show is that for the first 10 years of my business, photography wasnā€™t my only job. I was either in grad school or working 2ā€“3 jobs at a time while building this business, paying off debt, and saving for our future. Many late nights were spent editing after work. Many weekends were spent photographing weddings while working toward goals that felt a long way off.

There were seasons when growth felt slow. Seasons when I wondered if all the hard work would be worth it. Looking back now, Iā€™m incredibly grateful I kept going.

To every couple who trusted me with their wedding day, every family who came back year after year, every senior, newborn, and milestone sessionā€”thank you. Youā€™ve allowed me to do work I genuinely love while creating a life that lets me be present for my own family, too.

To God be the glory for 15 years of serving incredible clients and preserving precious memories!
