As artists, I think we can find inspiration in so many things. In the art created by our mentors and peers. In the love our clients invite us in to witness. Sometimes it’s something small like the change of a season.
This weekend I jump back into photographing weddings after having a few months off (I’m excited and anxious and full of ideas and nerves, I’ve heard some people say that never goes away?!) And in preparation I’ve found myself looking through 2025 galleries and reflecting on why I love what I get to do. In addition to that though, I compiled a bunch of personal photos from various trips, the holidays, and little moments at home in these past few months of down time. I’m sharing those here because I felt they deserved a spot on the feed too 🥰
A lot of these moments felt magical to me, some felt more ordinary but still something I wanted to remember. Others gave me that little spark of inspiration after *finally* getting the film developed 🤪 But ultimately they serve as that important reminder I need every once in a while that sometimes the best inspiration for our work as creatives is real life. Whether that’s pure observation or how we creatively shape the moment to reflect the way something made us feel. And feeling that magic from photos of my own life motivates me like nothing else to give that to other people.
And if all that was too long and you don’t care here’s my alternate caption -
“Enjoy some off season mems!!!”
