Film remembers what time forgets.

Shot with a Canon AE-1, a 50mm lens and Ilford HP5+ b&w film, these moments on the old route 66 in Northern Arizona linger in silver and dust.

Double-tap if you can feel the silence between frames.

Anpanman playground ride left to decay among scrap metal.

Once a symbol of childhood joy, now a quiet relic of passing eras.

Shot on Leica M11 + Summilux 35 FLE II.
Cinematic, nostalgic, unmistakably Japan.

💭 What childhood memory still lingers in your mind?

When kids carry the weight of centuries ⤵️

Drums, lanterns, and the rhythm of a living tradition.

• Photographed in Iwaki City, Fukushima, during a summer matsuri.
• Children step forward with drums, headbands, and patterned festival wear - the same rituals passed down for generations.
• Shot on Kodak Vision3 250D color motion picture film with a Leica M6 TTL & Summilux 35mm FLEII lens, giving these moments a cinematic warmth that feels timeless.
• The contrast of young performers and seasoned elders shows how tradition is not just preserved, but lived, carried, and renewed.

Japan’s summer festivals in black & white ⤵️

From kids flashing peace signs to vendors behind the grill, this is matsuri on film.

• Shot on Leica M6TTL + Summilux 35mm FLEII, loaded with Kodak Tri-X 400 B&W 🎞️

• Street portraits blend with festival fragments—children, yukata, food stalls, and decorations.

• Grain, shadow, and contrast turn everyday gestures into timeless moments.

• Black & white strips away color, leaving only expression, texture, and light.

Your step-by-step guide to bulk loading ⤵️

Why pay more for film when you can roll your own?

• Start with a bulk loader - I use mine to roll 100-foot spools into 36-shot rolls.
• Here I’m loading Kodak Vision3 250D motion picture film 🎥
• Tape the leader of the bulk roll to a reused 35mm canister.
• Close the loader, crank out the frames, and cut clean.
• Finish by shaping the leader with a film leader cutter so it’s camera-ready.
• Same quality as store-bought, but WAY cheaper - and you control the process.

❤️ Like this if you still shoot on real film.

Where tradition quietly fades ⤵️

These traditional Japanese storehouses in Iwaki once stored rice, tools, and maybe memories. Now? They store time itself.

A Look at Japan’s Disappearing Rural Architecture…

• These images document traditional Japanese “kura” - earthen storehouses built to last generations.

• Photographed in Iwaki City, Fukushima, each one tells a different story: some preserved, others fading into silence.

• Shot on black and white film, the textures come alive with tile, plaster, bamboo, and old wood.

• These aren’t ruins. They’re living records of regional architecture and rural life.

• I frame them not just to preserve, but to slow down and notice.

Display Notes
• These darkroom prints are ideal for minimalist, wabi-sabi-inspired interiors.
• Best displayed in pairs or a triptych to highlight aging textures and form.

You can hear the silence if you look closely ⤵️

These buildings aren’t abandoned, they’re remembering.

• Life in stillness – Rural Japan often speaks in quiet tones. This series listens.
• Decay as texture – The cracked walls, peeling wood, and crumbling corners tell stories no one’s written.
• Human absence, human trace – There’s no one in the photos, but signs of life remain.
• Shot on medium format film – Ilford FP4+ gives the soft shadows and tonal control to preserve every subtle detail.
• Documenting with respect – These are not ruins. They’re lived spaces, aging with dignity.

❤️ Like this if you’ve ever found beauty in forgotten places.
