I am a mother, a wife, and a photographer. I currently do not have a studio, but I will travel to any location for a photo shoot. Christina Prato Artists Statement 2012
I believe in beauty. I believe that beauty can be found in most aspects of life, things, and people. In my photography I try to capture and present beauty as I see it in the world. My inspiration comes from the more classical arti
sts and painters such as Rembrandt, Renoir, Monet, Manet, Michelangelo, Matisse, and Degas. Their works have influenced my own personal style as well as the more contemporary artist Norman Rockwell who to me always added an air of humor to his works. My last and most personal influence is my Great Grandfather, Philip Sullivan, whose paintings and sculptures surrounded me growing up. In my personal work I am drawn to Black and White Photography; the lines, shapes and movement are more relevant in these pieces. However, I also work in color which brings so much more emotion to a photograph or piece of art. When I create a portrait photograph I try to represent the true character of my subjects. I look past the temporary blemishes and imperfections to see a person as I would see them in a memory. No one thinks of a loved one or a child and remembers the acne on their face or the cut on their chin, they see in their mind only of their loved one and the essence of who they are. This is what I hope to capture and present in my photography; a person's character and moments in life. Education:
