Tuesday night I took off to the desert as soon as I saw the kp index spike in hopes of catching another Aurora here in Arizona. I went to my normal spot near the Superstitions to see if I could see anything. It was super cloudy at that time, but I could see little bits of pink through the clouds. As the clouds passed, I was able to capture a few shots there before deciding to drive to Canyon Lake.

As soon as I pulled in to park by the lake, I could see the bright pink in the North sky. It was visible to the naked eye, and really bright. I was so excited because it was so much brighter than any of the other Aurora events that I've captured so far.

On my way back into town, I decided to stop by Goldfield Ghost town to see if I could capture anything there, but it had already died down by that point and was just a faint pink glow only visible on camera.

Sedona is absolutely magical in the snow!!!

I checked the weather report and saw that a storm was expected to hit Sedona with heavy snow predicted to start early in the morning. I work nights, so I generally sleep during the day, but not this day!!! I decided to hop in my car and start driving to Sedona, reaching the trail head about 30 minutes after sunrise.

There was already about an inch of snow on the ground when I set out to hike to this cave, but the snow was accumulating quickly. The National Weather Service actually sent out a snow squall warning while I was on the trail. Once reaching the cave, I waited for the storm to clear to capture some photos. Just prior to this photo, you really couldn't see past the cave entrance.

Costa Rica is a magical place with lush jungles, beautiful beaches, and an abundance of wildlife. The beauty and endless adventures made it one of my all-time favorite destinations. While on a road trip through the country, I stopped off to hike to a series of six impressive waterfalls about halfway between Monteverde and Arenal Volcano.

I'm always out looking for a new adventure and a new place to explore. This canyoneering adventure sure didn't disappoint. After rapelling into a canyon, the only way out was by stemming through this narrow slot.

Exploring the islands off the coast of Panama was amazing. There were many beautiful beaches. This is just one of many during my visit.
