I captured the early morning sun breaking through a wall of massive redwood trees in California's Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park last week. I was bummed not to experience any foggy conditions or see any blooming rhododendrons (they had just recently dropped) during my stay. Sometimes things don't work out the way you hope and you make the best of it.

So I've been absent on Facebook the entire month of June so far. As I mentioned a while back, my wife and I are chilling in Bandon, Oregon for the month and I'm about halfway through my stay. I've been messing around with Lightroom on my tablet to process a few images. While I'm not overly impressed with its capabilities, it'll have to be good enough for now. Here's a shot of Bandon Beach from this morning. The weather either seems to be clear or all cloudy most of the time, so getting compelling images has been a challenge. This morning offered a brief transition from cloudy to clear so I hopped out to one of the beach overlooks to capture this scene. My apologies if the processing isn't up to my normal standards.

We're not far off from monsoon season, so here's a teaser from a previous summer. This beautiful double rainbow lights up the Schnebly Hill area of Sedona.

Indications of a strong El Nino developing this summer has the forecasters predicting a stronger than normal monsoon season in Arizona. Fingers are crossed!

This Memorial weekend marks my final Sedona area art show for the spring season. It will be at the Vista Village Mall in the Village Of Oak Creek and runs from Friday thru Sunday 9am - 5pm each day. It's been a long and busy spring show season and I'm really looking forward to some extended time off. My next show won't be until the Fourth of July weekend up in Flagstaff.

My accompanying image post is a night scene I captured at Sedona's Birthing Cave some five years ago. Thunder Mountain is off in the distance. It seems like it was just yesterday!

Enjoy the holiday, everyone!

This is the time of year for agave blooms to spice up the desert landscape in Sedona. Here's a collection of them in front of Mitten Ridge in the Schnebly Hill area.

I enjoyed hanging out on my inflatable kayak in this quiet cove of Watson Lake in Prescott, AZ a couple of years back. A bit of patience was required to remain still and allow the reflection to reveal itself.

Here's another image from the archives...from the summer of 2018. This is Sparks Lake backdropped by Broken Top Mountain in Oregon's Cascade Mountains. I'll be spending pretty much the entire month of June along Oregon's coast (with occasional forays inland). It'll be so nice to check out all the awesome coastal scenery and escape the scorching hot desert for a bit.

How about one more image from Colorado? Cuz it's hard to beat the combination of lupine and alpine found in the northern sector of the San Juan Mountains. Here, Mt. Sneffels backdrops this purdy hillside of lupine.

I went on a trip down memory lane when skimming through my image library this morning. Here's Island Lake reflecting Ulysses S. Grant Peak in Upper Ice Lake Basin in Colorado's San Juan Mountains.
