Scenes from Grand Manan — an island where fog, tides, and light are always reshaping the landscape.
☀️ Sunrise at Swallowtail Lighthouse, one of the most photographed spots on the island, was worth the early start. From the air you really see how dramatically it juts out into the Bay of Fundy.
🌫 Fog often drifts across the southwest cliffs, swallowing the headlands and leaving only glimpses of the shoreline... a moody contrast to the clear skies at other ends of the island. Had fun landing after we were quickly engulfed.
🏖 At Deep Cove Beach I expected rugged surf but the lagoon behind the beach was just as striking... a sheltered pocket of calm water framed by forest.
🌅 Grand Manan sunsets are something special. I caught one where a dense fog bank met a ceiling of glowing clouds... the kind of scene I usually watch from the other side in Lubec.
📸 Another simple sunrise frame from Swallowtail... just light, sea, and the clean lines of the horizon. Sometimes simplicity carries the most weight.
