Rocco is the Italian part of this wedding, pure fire. He talks, moves, dances, he doesn’t stop.

David is more calm, he’s the quieter side, more the observing type. He is Irish.

They are different and they work perfectly. Because what matters is not being the same. It’s sharing values.

That day I saw it in their family, in their friends, in how everyone was there, truly there.

Rocco’s father was La bomba bombastic!!

In a wheelchair, but with incredible energy. Taking photos, emotional, even getting up to dance. That can’t be faked, that’s supporting a son even if his way of loving is different.

That is love, and when there is love like that, everything is easier and more fun!

When I look at these photos, everything feels so calm.
But that day, not calm at all.

We were moving all day. From one house to another, from one place to the next, always going somewhere.

Carie and John’s wedding was full of life. What made it even better was the mix of traditions, Chinese and Western, all together in one day. That made everything feel more interesting, more meaningful, and also more fun.

And yes, the wedding was at a castle in New York, which was a very nice surprise for me because it was my first time there.

For a photographer, that place was a gift. So many good spots. So many possibilities. The kind of place where your brain goes, “oh Si!!! this is going to be fun.”

The couple was great, the families brought so much joy, the light was beautiful, and everything came together in a really lovely way.

There’s something about weddings that still gets me every time. The artists and their live performances.

I love seeing what happens when someone starts singing and people’s faces change. When one song lights up an entire table, or when dancers appear and suddenly everything feels different. A different texture, a different rhythm, a different energy.

I really love seeing that.
And I love photographing it even more.

Because that’s where beautiful things happen.
People let go, get emotional, sing, laugh, look at everything differently, and all of that gives a wedding something you simply can’t fake.

It gives it life.

Taking photos in New York during a snowstorm sounds romantic, until you’re actually there with frozen hands.

Raquel and Augusto came from Costa Rica to spend a few days in the city because they love it. And even with the intense cold we’ve had these days, they decided they wanted the full experience. Not just to walk around New York. To really live it.

And that’s the key!

A session isn’t about posing. It’s not “stand here and smile.” It’s walking, laughing even when your fingers are freezing, hugging because it’s cold, dropping the nonsense and just having a good time.

They trusted. They let themselves be guided. They forgot a little about the camera. And then everything was easy and fun.

I truly believe the most important thing is having a good time, and the photos are the consequence. What really matters is how you feel while we’re doing them. If you’re comfortable. If you’re enjoying it. If you’re actually living the moment instead of acting it.

When that happens, you can tell. Trust me, you can tell!

And that’s exactly what happened that day.

Years from now, when they look at these images, they won’t just remember the city. They’ll remember how they felt here.

If that happens, and on top of that you love the photos, then I’m the happiest man in the whole wide world!

Alright. Let’s have some fun!

On a wedding day, a lot of things happen very fast. But this moment is usually different.⁣

There’s not as much rush, well, there’s always some, but the stress eases a bit, and brides usually get to enjoy the moment of finally putting on the dress they chose so carefully.⁣

Without a doubt, a very, very special moment.⁣

I arrive at the wedding, ready to look for the bride, and the first thing I see is a 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗢𝗬𝗘𝗗. 😄⁣
And of course, there goes my plan, because that’s one of my favorite dogs. And the best part is, it wasn’t “the dog chilling in a corner.” No, no. He was THE EVENT. People came up to him, pet him, took photos.

⁣I swear, for a moment I thought, “the bride looks gorgeous, buuuut, this fluffy guy is competing HARD.” 😂⁣
⁣Best part, he gave me one of those opportunities I’d been waiting for, to shoot wedding photos with a dog.⁣
Like, I wish all my weddings had dogs. That would be amazing!!!⁣
⁣Also, working with Karis is always a treat.⁣ Zero stress, everything easy, lots of laughs, and with this “special guest” it was next level.⁣
⁣So hey!! if you’re getting married and your wedding has a dog, I want in. The end!⁣

One look says nothing… and everything at the same time. Like the rain on your face, Or an old map to some treasure.⁣

Gracias querido

About a year ago, we were in Texas with for Sally and Andrew’s wedding.⁣

This summer, we got to see them again, but this time in New York.⁣

They love this city, so they brought their wedding outfits and we headed to Central Park for a photo session.⁣

Daniel invited me to join him again. I filmed some behind the scenes moments, took a few photos… and as always, working with Dani is easy and fun.⁣

We were around Central Park with that weird summer weather, sun, rain, a break… and then more rain. We had to improvise a bit, but we know each other well, so the rhythm just flows.⁣

Now I’m waiting for the next adventure. Let’s see where it takes us.⁣

Every wedding has its own rhythm. Some are pure madness, others super emotional, and then there are the calm ones, like Sylvia and Taylor’s. And it feels so good when everything flows without stress.⁣

One thing that really grabbed me was Sylvia’s dad. Photographer and videographer his whole life. Supposedly retired, but not really. You’d see him wandering around with his phone, filming, checking everything we were doing. And I thought: when you do this because you love it, it never leaves you.⁣

And the groom… with his friends who are cops. You’d think serious, formal… nope. There they were, beers in hand, playing PlayStation while the bride was getting ready. Just guys having fun.⁣

And the weather surprised us, the lake was frozen and snowflakes started to fall. Not a storm, just enough to give everything a magical feel… though yes, we were all shivering.⁣

In the end, that’s what I keep, every wedding is a collection of little stories. And those are the stories that stay in the photos.⁣

When I got to the getting ready, I saw Ben and dropped a “hola” in Spanish (yes, with Ben we usually throw in some Spanish words). And boom, Hiromi’s family looked up and smiled. “Tu hablas Español?“Do you speak Spanish?” Turns out the bride’s father had been an ambassador for many years in Spanish-speaking countries, Barcelona included. Since I’m also coming from Barcelona, in just a couple of minutes we were connected as if we’d known each other for ages.⁣

That day I was with as the second photographer (thanks for inviting me, Ben), and it only took that little detail for everything to shift, more trust, more laughter, more natural moments. It reminded me of something I believe more and more every day, photos don’t just come from the camera, they come from relationships, empathy, and that spark when you find common ground.⁣

I guess I’m going to have to start learning a few more languages!⁣
