TOYOTA RACING won the manufacturers’ title with a dominant one-two victory in the 6 Hours of Barcelona. After each safety car, the two Toyota TR010 Hybrids pulled away from the competition. Genesis Magma Racing confirmed the speed of the new Genesis GMR-001 LMDh by monopolizing pole position (by Mathys Jaubert) and P3 (by Mathieu Jaminet) in both qualifying (in reverse order) and hyperpole sessions for Sunday’s 6 Hours of Barcelona. TF Sport captured its second straight championship in the European Le Mans Series on Saturday as Charlie Eastwood, Alec Udell and Blake McDonald teamed for the LMGT3 Driver championship in the #33 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. Michael Jensen, Enzo Trulli and Malthe Jakobsen did not lead a single lap during the 4 Hours of Portimao. They nevertheless won the LMP2 Pro/Am category at the wheel of the #20 ORECA of the Algarve Pro Racing team and secured the LMP2 Pro/Am championship title thanks to a spectacular comeback by Malthe Jakobsen, who started his stint 14 seconds behind, ultimately crossing the finish line 3.014 seconds behind the winner. The pressure exerted by Jakobsen on Huffaker, led the driver of TDS Racing #14 to commit several traffic violations.
