Purposeful Photography Adventures with Lisa Mize
“Creating the extraordinary through YOUR lens.” Illnesses caused me to stop living… I was missing life. I missed too many sunrises, too many sunsets, and too much in between. Through blessings, my illnesses are mostly under control, and now I am living. My burning passion for photography and living an adventuress life is a great combination! Anythin

g outdoors: kayaking down a waterway, hiking along endless trails, listening to the waves crash on the beach while sleeping, biking a gorgeous trail, or just casting off our lines on our boat we live on and see where Puget Sound takes us, but I am doing it all, camera in hand! I want to inspire others to seek out beautiful places from all over the world! My greatest achievements are my five amazing children, but if I can fan a small fire that is burning inside of you through the images you see in my photographs, THAT will be a wonderful achievement indeed!

I saw that the sunset was shaping up, so I drove up onto a plateau to try to get the best view possible! It started just glowing with these amazing clouds and then turned into an amazing fiery sky with awesome rays of light! Enjoy!

Enjoy my most recent adventure in the Palouse as I mapped out my Palouse Workshop next month! Check out the barns, the storm clouds, the amazing light, old farmhouses, the great horned owl that swooped down right over my Jeep and up into the tree and the amazing looking Chukar Partridge pair that walked across the road to wait for the train!

Driving in northeast Oregon and southeast Washington always brings me so much sweetness to my eyes! The landscape, the views and the wildlife are just amazing! Add in the Palouse and you get even more yummy goodness! Enjoy the Northern Harrier hunting, American White Pelicans resting at the Snake River, a young moose at Steptoe Butte!

Day 2 of our Ridgefield National Wildlife Preserve and Waterfall Women Only Photography Workshop! After waking up in our gorgeous Airbnb and having a bite to eat, we packed up and headed out to start chasing waterfalls! A couple of the gals really had not used tripods before (which is TOTALLY okay!), but we were going to practice long exposures to get those silky waterfall images, so out came the tripods along with instructions in real life scenarios! (So much easier to learn by DOING than just reading about a new technique!) It was so fun to see each of the women's visions, techniques, compositions and so forth! They braved wet and very slippery rocks and keeping rain off of their lenses all while learning new techniques! It was a great day!!! I hope YOU can join us on our next adventure! Here is a video from Day 1 of our Women Only Photography Workshop last month to the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge! (Day 2 was Waterfall Chasing and I will post that soon!)
What an amazing group of ladies! We walked some trails and we also did the auto drive at the refuge!
After a full day of spotting and photographing birds and wildlife, we checked into our gorgeous Airbnb, then headed out to dinner together. Besides teaching and sharing about all things photography, getting to know each of these extraordinary women and to just talk photography and life is such a highlight, for me, at my workshops! I am meeting just awesome ladies from all walks of life! Again, just WOW!
Watch through to the end of the video to find out how you can join us on our next workshop! We would LOVE to have you!

Have you ever stood somewhere so beautiful it made you catch your breath?
The Palouse does that to me. Every. Single. Time.
Rolling wheat fields that go on forever. That golden hour light that turns everything to liquid gold. A sky so big and so full of stars at night that your camera can barely contain it.
And THIS June, June 25th through 28th, I'm taking a small group of women photographers right into the heart of it for four days of the most intentional, adventurous, soul-filling photography you've ever done!
Here's what four days in the Palouse looks like with me:
*Sunrise shoots at the most iconic, and some secret, locations!
*Rolling wheat fields and wildflowers at golden hour!
*Historic barns and farmlands with incredible character and light!
*Introduction to nighttime photography under the darkest skies!
*A beautiful Airbnb base overlooking the Snake River!
*Personal one-on-one coaching and guidance every single day!
*A small group of women who love photography as much as you do!
This is not a tour. This is not a passive experience where you follow someone around. This is a real photography education, in one of the most stunningly beautiful places in Washington State, with a guide who genuinely loves teaching and genuinely loves YOU finding your best images!
Women only. June 25–28. Only 4 spots left!!!
If the Palouse has been on your photography bucket list then this is your sign.
We would LOVE for you to join us!
