Getting to spend some time with these rhinos was an absolute dream. Look at the babies!!! The horns are routinely cut off to keep the poachers away! Enjoy the late afternoon light on these beauties! John Mize

Dreamin' of the Aurora Borealis in Northern Norway! We had some amazing nights! We rented a motorhome to allow us to park overnight in some amazing locations and that also made it super easy to open the door and see if she had shown up yet! "Just look up" was the tip from our driver from the airport to Tromso. He was absolutely correct! What was really amazing was that each night that we had the aurora, she showed up differently each time! WOW!!! Enjoy these incredible nights that we had! John Mize

Come, find some sand or a log and sit down next to me and watch this sunset over Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains! I created these images as a student sat next to me at a workshop I hosted. She is fairly new to photography and takes in every piece of information I can give her! She is so eager to learn! We talked about light, the exposure triangle, using her histogram (so not to blow out her whites and lose data), composition and even about long exposures! Photographing next to her and dialing in my exposures, I was able to show her, in real time, where to start, what her camera is doing and how to capture exactly what she saw in her mind. I LOVE being able to say, "Look what YOU just created!" Yeah, teaching photography is so fun! Lisa Mize Photography CREATIVES!

Besides the amazing wildlife, the African sunsets are pretty amazing! At the end of our first day's evening game ride, we were delighted to stop down by an area that had amazing trees, river, hippos, crocodiles, cormorants and more! I was pinching myself! This just didn't seem real. And yes, we were warned to NOT go close to the water's edge as those crocs were close by!!! Check out the teeth!!! John Mize Africa Through Your Lens Safaris

Elephants. Beautiful elephants! On our first game drive, we had this lovely and very close encounter with a small heard of elephants including a couple wee ones! Our sighting ended with two young bulls going head to head, or is that tusk to tusk? The more dominant one then turned to challenge our vehicle. Thankfully, our ranger started the engine and it backed down. We were so close that I didn't even need my big lens! Such a cool first elephant sighting for us!!! John Mize Through Your Lens
