Magnolia was showing off last summer during Bekka and Dillon’s maternity session in Seattle. The flowers were in full bloom, and the late afternoon sun was the perfect amount of sparkly. Magnolia is a favorite neighborhood for Seattle maternity sessions, especially in late summer when everything f...

Golden hour is always a popular time for photos, but what if it’s summer and you don’t want to wait til 8 or 9 pm? Let’s do a morning session!

Check out Christian and Laureen’s proposal! We did it early morning on the coast, so we got all the morning sun on the beach, plus the secret morning golden hour in the forest! This gives your gallery some awesome variety that you just can’t get during evening golden hour. So what do you think, would you get up extra early to have morning golden hour all to yourself? I know I would!

On the hunt for the venue of your dreams? It might be your own back yard! Or in Katie and Noah’s case, your parents back yard! Katie’s mother’s place is a stunning mid century modern house overlooking Lake Washington, perfect for a midsummer wedding!

Have you considered getting married at someone’s house? I’m getting married at my parents house (we call it the swamp 😂) this fall and I’m so excited! If your roster doesn’t include someone with a venue-like space, there are some amazing event ready estates on VRBO! I love when couples get creative when thinking of ways to make their venue even more personal.

Why do private vows? I’ll fill you in on one of my favorite modern wedding traditions:
🌲No stage fright confessing your most intimate feelings in front of a crowd. Your grandma won’t mind if you do traditional vows during your ceremony :)
🌲Time to focus on *just* your partner. Wedding days can be hectic, sometimes with a lot of balls in the air at once. It’s really nice to sneak away before the big event and recenter yourselves as a couple and remember what the day is all about!
🌲Extra photo opportunity! It would have been impossible to get all the guests onto this tiny little forest trail. But how perfect is it for the fairytale vibe of Andy And Kasi’s wedding? It adds so much variety to your gallery!

Alex and Tanner's San Juans micro wedding is up on the blog!

Alex and Tanner chose to celebrate their marriage with an intimate summer micro wedding in the San Juan Islands, surrounded by water, sky, and a small group of their closest family members. Overlooking the Puget Sound, their ceremony focused on connection, presence, and simplicity rather than tradit
