On Sunday I was also lucky to see this tiny adorable Saw-whet owl curled up for a nap! They are just the cutest tiny little things

A tree just across the path also had two Great Horned Owls!

This morning I was able to catch up with Kpod as they passed discovery park on a dark, windy, rainy morning in Seattle. At the tail end, a few made a fairly close pass before continuing north.

One of the coolest and unexpected things we saw in Japan was this volcano! I just happened to notice it on the map when I was searching for things to do along the drive to our next lodging, and it was so cool!

One of my goals while in Japan was to see Red Crowned Cranes. While it wasn't yet peak season for them, I did find a good number of them! They are SO BIG! (they can reach about 5' tall!)

Last Friday I went back up to BC to visit my favorite Sandhills Cranes. We lucked out with a super close visit from the family again as they foraged and groomed before moving to a different spot.

Last week we finally had a break in the clouds, so I went to my local park to look for the comet. I wasn't quite able to see it without a camera, but it was fun hunting for it with everyone else gathered, and then figuring out how to photograph something so specific when I couldn't actually see it.

Super cool to see something that only comes around every 80,000 years!! Safe travels, C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-Atlas!
