Some of my favorite moments are so beautiful they feel borrowed from a movie.

i was walking into the art museum in st. louis (last august, i just haven’t posted these yet lol) for a photo session when i noticed two people standing in the glow of a moment that had them both overflowing with joy. noah had proposed to madisyn only minutes before. they were still laughing, still crying, still trying to process that they were engaged. 😭

i asked if i could photograph them! i could not see such a beautiful moment and let it pass by me.

as if the moment wasn’t already magical enough, a double rainbow appeared overhead shortly after. it felt like one of those moments you couldn’t have planned if you tried. the kind that reminds you life has a way of surprising you with beauty when you least expect it.

these photographs were never planned. they happened because our paths crossed at exactly the right moment.

next month, i’ll get to stand beside them again, this time as their wedding photographer.

it’s one of my favorite reminders that the best love stories aren’t always the ones you plan for. sometimes they’re the ones you simply have the privilege of stumbling into. and every once in a while, if you’re lucky, you get to follow that story all the way to “i do.”

because one day, the flowers will wilt. your babies will grow up. the places you love will change. you’ll become older versions of yourselves.

but these moments????? they get to stay EXACTLY as they were.

i want your gallery to feel kind of like opening an old journal, like hearing your favorite song after years of forgetting it existed. like remembering a version of yourself you thought you’d lost.
