Cheyenne Monteiro Photography HANDCRAFTING INTENTIONAL & MEMORABLE, MOMENTS FOR THE UNTRADITIONAL & FIERY LOVERS HEY HEY GIRLFRIEND, GUYFRIEND, OR THEM-FRIEND! ALL ARE WELCOMED HERE!

Mama to 2 wild munchkins, artist, avid adventure goer and owner of
Cheyenne Monteiro Photography. I've always had a rebellious side and following the norm was never my thing. I know what it’s like to ditch the bigger, traditional wedding and opt to elope--because I’ve done it! Before I was ever engaged, I dreamt of that big show stopping wedding and then came to find out (when I met my husband) th

at was far from what we wanted and what fit us. We wanted a wedding that was intimate and intentional. One that focused on our love for each other without the stress of other expectations, traditions and pressures. So we eloped! Here's the catch, we didn't hire a photographer.. Gahhh I know! My biggest regret was not having someone there to capture our once-in-a-lifetime experience to look back and cherish when we're old and gray. This is why I care so much! I know first hand what it feels like to not have your love story documented. Since then, it’s become my biggest passion in life to help couples all over the world be obsessed with their wedding day and capture your love story your way; intentionally, beautifully and make it an unforgettable experience. So what are you waiting for? Let's do the damn thing!

One minute I was in the valley, trees overhead, the road dark and quiet. And then the switchbacks opened up and suddenly there was nothing — just sky and mountain and the feeling of being at the edge of the world.

Friends and family moving up the mountainside in the early morning grey, just enough light to find the trail, the valley still sleeping far below. There is something about sharing a climb with the people you love that strips everything down to what matters. By the time we reached the lookout, every single person standing there had earned the view.

Jordan and Daniel are the kind of people the mountains were made for. Some couples choose a venue. They chose a mountain. And the sun came over the ridge just as they said their vows.
Some mornings stay with you forever.

My heart dropped when the rain started. I was sitting in my car, an hour early, watching it come down in sheets — Nicole was weeks from her due date and there was no other version of this day. And then the clouds pulled back from Mt. Si, the light came flooding into the meadow, and a rainbow hung over the valley like the whole thing had been planned.

I have known Nicole outside of this work. To be trusted with a moment this big, for a family this dear — and to be standing in a field like that, doing what I love, camera in hand, the mountains right there — I don’t take a single second of it for granted.

There is no version of this work I don’t feel honored to do.

Some places feel untouched by time and the Hall of Mosses breathes that truth in silence. Jenna and Loo stepped into a stretch of boundless green in the Hoh Rain Forest and their joy moved easily through the trees, shaping their Washington elopement into a quiet, unforgettable adventure.

Here are three hashtags that keep your brand elevated, avoid anything overly generic, and fit the Marcella Laine inspired tone while still supporting SEO.

not every engagement session goes according to plan. this one didn’t. and somehow that made it even better.

here’s the thing about shooting in the heart of downtown Seattle: the city doesn’t always make it easy. I’m not gonna lie—there were some head-scratching moments where access was a no-go and we had to pivot fast. but we rolled with it and kept exploring. discovering these incredible hidden pockets throughout the city. tucked-away corners. unexpected architecture. quiet spaces between the noise that felt completely untouched.

marble that glows warm under low light. shadows that stretch and soften. movement that blurs the city into something dreamlike. grain that gives weight to the stillness.

sometimes the detours are better than the plan.

a little food for thought for my photographer friends: if you’re planning to shoot in downtown Seattle, do yourself a favor and call ahead. ask questions. get permission. the city is stunning, but access isn’t always guaranteed. plan for flexibility, scout backup locations, and communicate openly with your couples about the realities of urban shooting.

and for the couples dreaming of a Seattle engagement session—or an intimate PNW elopement? this is exactly why I love what I do. because even when things don’t go according to plan, there’s magic in the pivot. there’s beauty in the unexpected.

to my past couples: check your inbox. I’ve got a special 40% off Black Friday print offer waiting for you. these images deserve to live beyond your screen—printed, framed, tangible.

to Brenna and Angelo: thank you for your trust and for rolling with everything that day brought us. cannot wait to celebrate with you two next year!

From my little crew to yours, I hope today feels slow and warm. I want to take a second and say thank you for the way you have shown up for me and my kids this year. Every booking, every message, every share, every bit of support has mattered more than you know. It has helped me take care of my babies, keep this dream alive, and keep growing in a season that has stretched me in every direction.

To the ones who have been with me since the early days, thank you for sticking around and letting me evolve. And to the new faces who just found my work, I am so grateful you are here. Your support is not something I ever take lightly. You help me build something beautiful for my kids, and I hold that close.

Thank you for trusting me with your memories and for letting me share pieces of mine. I hope your Thanksgiving is full of softness, good food, and the people who make you feel safe and seen.

I made the biggest mistake a photographer can make.

We had just met in North Bend, Washington for Aaron and Vania’s anniversary/birthday session. The light was golden, the field wide open, and everything felt perfect. I got there early to scout the light, tested my angles, pulled out my camera—and nothing. It wouldn’t turn on.

Cue the panic.

I checked everything: SD card? In. Lens? Attached. Battery? …missing. Completely.
Home was over an hour away. No camera store in sight. And right then, they pulled up, full of excitement and trust.

So I took a deep breath, grabbed my iPhone, and decided to make it work.

We ran through grass. Chased the last light. Laughed at the chaos of it all.
And the photos? They told the story just the same.

It’s moments like these that remind me—it’s not always about the gear.
It’s about adaptability, creativity, and trust.

To my fellow photographers: double-check your batteries.
To my couples: when you trust your photographer, you open the door for something real.

Because the magic isn’t in the camera,
it’s in the connection.

August at , on the Washington coast. The light golden and unhurried, the shoreline stretching on, Canada shimmering just across the water.

It felt like the kind of evening you want to tuck away and keep-where laughter carries on the breeze, warmth lingers long after the sun dips, and summer feels endless for just a little longer.
