SWOOON!!! these might be some of the most tender, artistic wedding photos i’ve ever captured. 🌙✨
no cake cutting. no first dance. no wedding party. no traditional vows even, just “sit around the fire” by jon hopkins, ram dass and east forest playing over speakers while a dj live looped sound in real time through the ceremony.
the venue has unmatched beauty. the florals were exquisite, soft and wild and everywhere. a long cocktail hour brought musical dedications from guests, and later a ska band had everyone dancing. a tasting menu by surrell matched the whole vibe: unexpected, delicious, completely them. and yes, there was an ice cream truck and an amazing live painter.

as a seattle wedding photographer, i shoot documentary style with editorial portraits woven in, days like this are exactly why. the couple builds something entirely their own instead of following a checklist, and my job is to catch the real thing instead of the performance of tradition.
