It’s Opening Night for the MUST SEE Play of 2022!! “Sweat” at ACT Theatre

There’s only ever been ONE WOMAN to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama TWICE. The Brilliant, African-American Playwright Lynn Nottage travelled to Reading, PA to interview the forgotten victims of America’s ‘de-industrial revolution’. The characters are as real and complex as any you’ve ever seen on-stage. And Nottage has woven these real people into what the New York Times describes as “a nifty ticking time bomb of a plot.” Sweat is a cleareyed look at how economic uncertainty can easily tip over into opiod addiction, and also racism, xenophobia, and violence.

The script alone *demands* that you buy a ticket for this show RIGHT NOW. But I’m not done raving about this production. Because: This. Fu***ng. Cast. Is ON FIRE. You’ll notice there’s no ONE attribution for the “Best Acting Ensemble” quote above in the album….you know why….we couldn’t choose just One Person to cite; it’s what’s been said by person after person after person who’s seen Preview performances. It’s an ensemble cast where every single member has found some hidden gear. It’s a thrill to watch. Run don’t Walk and all that; the whole back half of the run is going to sell out.
