The best times are spent with my niece in the hammock. Someday I can’t wait to take her hiking and camping. When I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up she said, “I want to be a photographer and get lots of free stuff like you Uncle Riley!” 🥹

Just put my niece & nephew to sleep. They both built forts out of the bedding pads and are now both sleeping away on the floor. Lol Now it’s midnight and after locking the house door I’m out enjoying the fire on my own and just feeling the heat and staring at the stars. I don’t get very many breaks from caregiving so yes I’ll take the chill time on my hammock in front of the fire.

When shooting nature portraits taking the same old shotz gets old. Try changing the focal point on your subject. The hands, feet, eyes, and boots are some fun ones to try. Get them candidly while your subject is in everyday motion. In this shot is hopping from snowy rock to rock crossing a creek bed. It can really create a mood for your portraits.

Climbing the Heliotropic Ridge in the Mount Baker - Snoqualmie Forest. The trail has to be under all this snowfall somewhere, right? taking point on our little expedition. We lost the trail a few times. There’s gotta be a better way...
I invited a friend to shoot portraits with me this Sunday. I’m currently researching some new potential camera settings I can use. What’s your favorite lens to shoot portraits with? I can pick from; Wide, Macro, Nifty Fifty, and the Tele Zoom. I’m probably going to end up using them all. But mostly the zoom pulled back and the wide but not too wide. I’m intrigued, by using the 90 mm Sony G series Macro I’ve heard it’s great for portraits. Would love some feedback from all my fellow shooterz.

Sometimes strangers enter your life and you never expect it. For some reason unbeknownst to those of us who suffer from whatever it may be. For you some way somehow they want to help you and you're humbled you don't know why who what where and when again why me again over and over and over again. thank you namaste I see the divine within you the light it lets you be who you are and I thank you for being you.

I am positive that Emily has orchestrated this, I don't know what to call the locks they are much more than just a support system they have become my friends and I hope will become my family I believe in them I just hope they keep believing in me. 😓 She's done it all from heaven rest Mittens soul. Again and again we find ourselves saying just keeps on giving even in death rest her delicate mind body and soul.

P.S. I hope Ems is not hovering all over her higher power like she did us simple humans on Earth. If you knew her you know what I'm talking about 🤣

Tonight I'm celebrating my best friends Birthday. She turned 29 and in my opinion one the most up beat and positive people I know. She deals with a very rare disability that only occurs in 200 people that exist. If you have it it's called Coffin Siris Syndrome which I had never heard of before meeting her in our first photography class. I remember introducing my for the first time at school and honestly she looked like she could use a friend. So I made it my mission to befriend her then and there, little did I know it would come with a thousand questions about life each and every day of class. Zoom out 5 years later and I am still grateful I helped her get through that class because she now helps me get through the pains and depression of everyday life even though it comes with lots of frustrations. Thank you Ems. I wouldn't trade it for the world. She doesn't know if tomorrow will be her last but she lives life like it could be. Emily and whether you want to be a guy or a girl or something in between I have your back!
