The finale of K+C’s wedding day, and I can’t stop looking at these images over and over again. The little and big personal elements that Kasey and Chad put into their day made it not only beautiful, but also intimate, fun, and even more memorable.

The unique touches were evident from the get-go, from colorful tablecloths and florals, to always-fun custom cocktails, to awesomely entertaining games (like a specially made jumbo word search), to family photos on display (note Kasey’s mom’s dress in this...it’s significant later!), and so much more. It would take me ages to list out everything that K+C put into this day that was truly *theirs*.

After the alpine slide, K+C entered their reception to a first dance, and then mingled with guests in the beautiful sunset. There were toasts and laughing and so much joy. After the sun was down, it was time for things to move into full party mode, and at this point is when Kasey re-entered the reception in a new dress...or rather, an old dress made new.

Kasey took her late mom’s wedding dress and had it altered and made into a new one for her to wear on her own wedding day. It was GORGEOUS and one-of-a-kind, both deeply personal as being a part of her mom with her on her wedding day, and also fun and looked *amazing* on Kasey. And in this dress, Kasey danced and celebrated alongside Chad with their closest loved ones, ending out this beautiful day with music, joy, and tons of good memories.


It’s always an honor to be trusted with a couple’s wedding day, and it’s even more of an honor when a couple brings on our whole team to help make their celebration all the more special. Both Cassidy and I count ourselves so lucky to have gotten to be a part of K+C’s day.

K+C: Thank you for choosing us, trusting us, and always treating us like friends. We are so grateful for you two and wish you the utmost joy in your life and future. I think I can speak for Cassidy when I say that we can’t wait to see all the adventures you get up to together. Cheers, you two! 🥂

Let’s talk about K+C’s wedding ceremony, because LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFUL 🥹

After their first look and some epic portraits around Mt Hood Skibowl • Wedding Venue, they greeted their guests at the Warming Hut for the main event. By this time, the sun had emerged, and so had the mountain - absolutely perfect timing!

There were many thoughtful details and moments baked into K+C’s day, and one of them was for Chad to meet Kasey when she got halfway down the aisle, and for them to walk together the rest of the way. This was a sweet, intentional, and meaningful moment for many reasons, and I have to say that while editing these images, I got a little emotional at this part. These are just the sweetest humans, y’all, and it makes me so happy to see them happy!

After their stunning ceremony was over, they gathered everyone together for a quick group photo and then transitioned into a lovely cocktail hour. I’ve done a few weddings at Skibowl, and most of the time, cocktail hour takes place at the bottom of the bowl. However, K+C opted to host their cocktail hour right there at the Warming Hut, and I have to say, getting to enjoy that view of the mountain as long as possible really was the right way to go.

After cocktail hour, K+C and their guests headed down to the reception in the best way possible: via alpine slide! Always a good time, and always fun to photograph!


The rest of K+C’s reception was just as beautiful as the first half of their day, and I’m excited to share those images tomorrow! Come on back then to get a glimpse into even more beautiful personalized details, sweet moments, and a friggin’ awesome wardrobe change.

September was a busy and immensely fulfilling month for the Venture Ever After team, due in no small part to this wonderful couple right here. Kasey (she/her) and Chad (he/him) brought not only myself (Nadia) on for their wedding, but also associate photographer, Cassidy. Both Cassidy and I got to work over the course of several months helping these two prepare for what would turn out to be an absolutely beautiful wedding celebration. During that time, we also got to know K+C, over many Zoom calls and in-person drinks, which made their wedding day all the more special when it finally came around.

Cassidy was lead photographer for their day, and as you can see, it was a dream to document and be a part of.

K+C planned a day filled with vibrant color, happy energy, and many meaningful-to-them elements.

They started their day with a first look at the top of Mt Hood Skibowl • Wedding Venue. At first, the clouds obscured the mountain, but after a sweet first look moment and a brief huddle under the trees to escape a quick rain shower, the absolute best thing happened: The sun came out just enough to create a magically placed rainbow, and the mountain started to show herself. I mean, if there was ever a sign that these two were meant to be and that this day was going to be memorable, I think this was it!

After soaking up all the time they could at the top bowl, K+C headed down to the Warming Hut to greet some guests, share a few more moments alone (including a celebratory toast!), and prepare for the next big moment...their ceremony.

The end of A+H’s wedding day was spent in some of the best ways...enjoying nature and a gorgeous sunset, and having a blast with close friends.

After dinner and toasts, A+H took some alone time to absorb the fact *they just got married* and be present in nature for a bit. Close to their venue, there’s a beautiful forested trail, and during golden hour, everything took on a cozy, warm vibe that was perfect for these quiet moments.

On our way back from the trail, we stopped to spend a little more time with the venue’s ancient oak tree. The sky showed off, and A+H watched the sun fully set together before rejoining their loved ones.

Almost immediately upon re-entering their reception, Angela totally crushed at corn hole (epic shot). And then everyone headed to the dance floor for bouquet tosses and dancing. Many shenanigans ensued, and I think it’s safe to say that this wedding was a hell of a good time, from beginning to end.

A+H, once again, I want to thank you so much for making me a part of your day. Getting to spend time with you before and during this day, getting to love on Clover, photographing your obvious and beautiful love for each other, and celebrating how amazing you both are with your loved ones...it was all an absolute joy. I’m so happy for you two and so excited to see where your love and life takes you. Cheers to all your future years together and all the fun and wonderful things you’ll get up to 🥂

I am 1000% a stereotypical “treehugger” in that I absolutely adore trees, and I’m a bit of a sucker for a big, old oak tree. So, when A+H told me they were having their ceremony under “Herald” the 600-year old (!!!) oak at Adeline Farms, I was smitten.

A+H’s ceremony was beautiful. Would you believe that 30 minutes before this, the sky was dark and it was pouring rain? Mother Nature showed up though, and the sun shone through Herald’s limbs as A+H exchanged vows to many laughs and teary eyes.

At the end of their ceremony, their dog, Clover, got the zoomies, which was the absolute best expression of all the joy filling the air. Post-zoomies we spent a few more minutes with Clover before she made her exit for the rest of the festivities of the day, and then A+H joined family and friends for dinner and toasts (which also involved both laughs and tears).

After dinner, in lieu of cake, A+H had something even better: the Marsh & Mallow Co. | Gourmet S’mores s’mores stand! This was a whole experience, involving A+H torching their own marshmallows and then of course, the mess of attempting to feed each other a perfectly gooey and chocolatey s’more.

After dessert, A+H shared a first dance, surrounded by loved ones. It was a nice transition into the next part of their day...which I’ll be sharing tomorrow and includes a walk in some beautiful woods, more time with Herald, and some dance floor shenanigans!

Y’all, a surefire way to make me excited is to tell me you’re going to bring your dog to your wedding. So, when Angela (she/her) and Hannah (she/her) told me during our consultation call that their dog, Clover, was going to be included, I was immediately on board. And once I saw just how much these two love Clover, I knew we’d need to incorporate this sweet little nugget into the day as much as possible!

And it began at the very beginning of the day! After some getting ready moments, A+H shared a first look between the two of them. First looks are such sweet moments because so many wedding days have a little bit of chaos at the start, and oftentimes, the first look is the first opportunity a couple has to slooooow down a little bit. A+H chose a spot away from the hubbub to have this moment, and it really was a great chance for them to re-ground and just be with each other for a few moments.

And then, of course, we needed to have a moment with Clover, too! With the wonderful help of Hounding Around Dog Training & Wedding Handler, we coordinated a first look with little Clover, and it couldn’t have been sweeter. She was so clearly excited to greet her moms, and looked extra adorable in her flower collar. I think her smile at the end of the scroll says it all.

It’s time for the second half of M+B’s maternity adventure!

We started with a walk through the forest, during which M+B got to fully take in the beauty that is the coastal forests of Oregon. Walking through moss-covered trees, playing games of “I Spy”, and at the end of the trail, enjoying sweeping views of the beach below.

Once on the beach, they got to walk through squeaky sand (an utter joy; if you’ve never experienced it, I highly recommend a shuffle through a sandy Oregon beach), stopping along the way when I got way too excited about the light, dramatic skies, and reflections from the receding tide.

Our ultimate destination was a little seasonal waterfall on the far side of the beach, complete with a tide low enough that these two got to peep starfish for the first time (what a treat!). While taking a few moments under the falls, I stepped back to give them space while they shared with each other what they were most excited about for when baby arrived. Taking some time to be present with each other and not have your photographer right next to you is something I really try to give time and space for during these sessions. It slows things down, gives you room to breathe, and ultimately allows for more real connection with each other.

After they had some time to themselves under the falls, we walked back down the beach. With the light dim enough for the use of lanterns, they traversed a little creek running from the forest to the ocean and shared a few more quiet moments together.

One of my favorite parts of this session doesn’t have any photos of it: the conversation we all shared. It means so much to me when couples come back for photos after their wedding days. Not only is it a blast to catch up, but it also is such an honor to know I’m being trusted again for another important and unrepeatable moment. This time was significant to M+B - and they asked me to help them remember it. I will never take that for granted.

Every once in a while, I get an opportunity to document something that’s *not* a wedding day. And it’s particularly exciting when these kinds of sessions come up because a past couple hits another significant life milestone that they want to remember. Such was the case with Morgan (she/her) and Brian (he/him) when they reached out to me earlier this year to share the wonderful news that they were expecting a baby, and they wanted to visit the Oregon Coast for their babymoon - and have me photograph some sweet moments during this fleeting and important phase of their life together.

When Morgan reached out, she mentioned that, while they definitely wanted to do something in nature as part of this adventure maternity session, they also wanted some documentation of quieter, more intimate moments. So, we planned to have me arrive at their lodging before our hike, to document them doing something simple, but real and sweet: Making dinner together.

They opted for breakfast for dinner (hell yeah, french toast!), and even though this part of the day was mostly about them sharing little moments between just the two of them, there were also little signs of their sweet babe around the house. It was both an intentional acknowledgment of M+B’s relationship and life up to this point as a couple, and also a celebration of that life becoming shared with another little human. Essentially, a commemoration of this transitional phase - something that often gets overshadowed by the bigger, more obvious moments like a wedding or the actual birth day of a child. The time after the last big thing and before the next big thing, that’s filled with anticipation, excitement, and a knowing that things are about the change in a big way. I think these in-between phases are so important and worthy of taking a pause to be fully present in and remembered, too.

There’s more to this day that I want to share, but I wanted to give these sweet little moments their own place in the feed. Tomorrow I’ll share the rest of M+B’s adventure, celebrating this ephemeral yet meaningful point in the timeline of their lives together.

October is my favorite month of the year, and it also happens to be a beautiful month to elope here in the PNW. Katie (she/her) and Diego (he/him) took full advantage of that fact a year ago today, when they gathered with some close family to celebrate the start of their marriage on the Oregon Coast.

They began the day with quiet getting ready moments leading into a first look on the tree-covered property of their Airbnb. Swiftly after this, they and their family members took a low key and scenic hike into a coastal overlook of one of my favorite northern coast beaches. There, they exchanged vows surrounded by their loved ones.

After the ceremony, their family departed for a break, while K+D and I continued to explore. They walked the beach and surrounding forest of their ceremony location before heading to a nearby cliff side. At this dramatic spot, they shared private vows with no one else around by the wind, birds, and waves.

Once their private vows were done, we had some extra time, so they decided to change into something more comfy and make one more stop at another favorite beach. There they meandered while enjoying the sea stacks and a beautiful sunset. As the light dimmed, they strolled back to the car with lanterns, and from there we all headed to nearby Pelican Brewing for dinner with family.

At dinner, everyone enjoyed b**r tastings, cake, and toasts to the couple. It was a casual, but beautiful (and inarguably fun) end to a perfect day.

A whole year later, I feel so nostalgic and sentimental looking at these photos. I’m so thankful I got to be part of such a wonderful day.

K+D, I’m wishing you a very happy first anniversary. You two are some of the kindest people I’ve met, and I’m appreciative that you chose me to be present with you on this day. I hope this first year has been filled to the brim with joy, and I know your future years will be filled with even more. Cheers, you two 🥂

On to what was surely my favorite part of Jess + Pat’s elopement day. Which also happened to be the quietest, and what I really felt was the most connected, part of the day.

After a beautiful ceremony with family, a hike with a few fun pit stops for tasty snacks, and exploring the always iconic Marymere Falls, we were nearing the end of J+P’s elopement adventure. But the most significant moment was still to come: Their private vows.

The first half of their hike was in a better-known area of the park, and while always a gorgeous place, it was mid-summer and a bit busy on the trails, especially around the falls. The second half of their hike, though, we ventured into an area that far fewer people tend to traffic. I had identified a riverside spot in this area, that always seemed to be quiet, and sure enough, we had it all to ourselves on this warm August day.

J+P picked a spot right next to the water, set against a backdrop of towering trees and fern-covered hillside. There, they exchanged their vows, truly meant only for each other, as the sounds of the river kept their words private and between them. I had no idea what was being said, but I still fought back my own tears; the love between J+P was so palpable and profound in those moments.

After they shared their promises, memories, and words of love with each other, we continued our journey back to where we started. We stopped along the way to read interpretive signs, learn about the forest, and enjoy the trees. And at the very end, when we were back at Lake Crescent, we found a quiet little nook where J+P softly played a song and shared a first dance.

What an unforgettable and immense joy it was to be with these two on this day. To get to not only document, but be present with, their love and deep devotion to each other.

I’ll never get over how lucky I am to get to witness such genuine and beautiful connection and get to call it my job.

J+P, thank you both so much for making me a part of such an important day. I’ll never forget it ❤️
