Part 2 of Erin's grad photoshoot! They've been taking pole fitness classes for a while and wanted to show off some of those skills in their grad photos. 🎓✨

My lovely friend Erin is getting their masters degree! Of course, we had to celebrate by taking some fun grad photos around Volunteer Park. Keep your eyes peeled for part 2 of this photoshoot that got a little bit spicier 👀👀👀👀

During my mini sessions in April, I ended up having TWO clients in a row bring their dogs! It was a little chaotic at times trying to persuade the little fur balls to cooperate, but I think the dogs still had a great time. They got to go to the park and get lots of extra treats and pets and be completely doted on. What more could they want?

And the mini sessions were perfect for the dogs because I don't think any of them could sit still for longer than 20 minutes 😂 But even with the short amount of time, I think we managed to get some fantastic family photos for everyone 💖

Which photo from this set is your fave? 👀 also hopefully at some point I'll get a chance to do sessions with other modes of public transport. Light rail? Bus? or maybe other kinds of boats? 👀

The seagulls in the second and third slides were both paid actors, and we are so grateful for all their hard work. Jk, I don't know how to pay a seagull or what kind of labor laws that would involve, but I am still grateful for them making appearances in my photoshoots.

They're also a great example as to why I leave a lot of flexibility and room for creativity in my portrait sessions. I go into every photoshoot with some shots pre-planned in my head, with specific locations, poses, angles, etc., but I also make sure I'm ready to adapt to whatever's in front of me. If my favorite booth on the ferry is taken some other passengers, we'll move on to a different one. If the mountains are out, I'm gonna make sure we get some extra shots with the mountains. And if a cool bird is flying perfectly overhead, I'm gonna get that bird in the photo.

Anyway, this was a delightful ferry engagement session, and I'm excited to photograph their wedding later this summer!

Some sneak peeks from Camden & Aaron's wedding earlier this month 💖 Their wedding was at The Stables , though we were able to sneak away from the venue for a couple minutes to take some cute couple photos with the murals and brick walls around Georgetown in Seattle.

Literally the first photo in this video is the first photo you see on my website like I really do adore these photos. I love love and I love these candid moments of authentic joy 💖💖💖 Do y'all agree with my take? Am I ignoring a moment that's better than both the first kiss AND the recessional??

Pro tip for taking photos at the arboretum - there are pretty plants EVERYWHERE! I always see crowds of photographers around the first few cherry trees next to the visitor center during cherry blossom season, but there is so much more to the park! Even on a Monday, there were tons of other photographers who had the smart idea to do a golden hour shoot at the park, but once we wandered past the popular spots, we found so many beautiful areas with NO ONE around. We still got plenty of stunning scenery, but without having to worry about getting in anyone's way or anyone getting in our way! In some ways, the photos turn out better because the clients can relax a little more and I can focus on them more and my surroundings less.

But idk maybe I should be gatekeeping this so y'all don't find my favorite little secret corners in all the Seattle parks.

I always love the variety of clients that I'm able to work with all in one day for mini sessions. Individuals looking for new headshots, couples who haven't had professional photos since their wedding day, families with kids, and, one of my favorites from this round, a couple looking for photos with their dog for his fifteenth birthday 🥹😭 There are so many reasons to want nice portraits, and I love being able to provide that for so many people.

If you're interested in joining my next round of mini sessions (or maybe booking a full session?), you can learn more and book a session now on my website (link in bio 👀).

Is there anything more Seattle than an engagement session on a ferry? We took the Bainbridge ferry right at golden hour, and the weather cooperated with us perfectly. Despite the crowds of people traveling to and from the city, we managed to get photos of Madison and Aaron in their own little world, happily in love 💖 Also, when I managed to get that first photo with the Space Needle perfectly in between them, I lost my mind.
