Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is a mental health disorder characterized by intense fear, anxiety, and avoidance of social situations and interactions. Symptoms of SAD can include sweating, blushing, trembling, rapid heartbeat, nausea, and difficulty speaking. The exact causes of SAD are unknown, but it is believed to be related to a combination of genetic, environmental, and various psychological and neurochemical factors. Roughly 7.1% percent of adults will be diagnosed with SAD each year.
