Yeonjoo & Michael at Saiuen Garden 🤍

Paper fans and soft light through the shoji screens, a quiet moment by the window, and a first look with family before heading down to the creek. Their ceremony sat right in the middle of the small garden, and the evening ended with dinner under the golden light, cake, late-night burgers, and dancing under the string lights- everything was picture perfect.

Yeonjoo & Michael, thank you for letting me be part of such a beautiful, thoughtful day. Every detail felt like you.

A sunny day, hydrangeas in full bloom, and a first look right outside that white house that still makes me smile. From the quiet getting-ready moments to the staircase, a ceremony under the trees, the sweetest flower girls, and dancing under the tent long after the sun went down, this day had it all.

Getting-ready details, for my couples 🤍

The first hour of your wedding day goes by so fast.
A little prep makes it calm.
And it makes the photos so much easier to love.

01 Keepsake box. Invitation suite, rings, heirlooms, a love note. All in one box, ready to shoot.
02 Good light. Pick the room with the biggest window and clear one tidy corner.
03 The dress. Steamed, pressed and on a pretty hanger before I arrive.
04 Their details. Tie, socks, watch, custom kicks. Partners get the love too.
05 Practice the tie. Bow ties always take the longest! Learn it the week before, not the morning of.
06 Buffer time. Add 15 extra minutes. Buttons and bustles always take longer than you think.
07 Have fun. Keep the good vibes going. The silly moments make the best photos (sunscreen smiley included 😄).

Save this for your wedding morning, and send it to your MOH or best man so someone else remembers too.

Dahye & Scotty 🤍

My first time shooting at Rock Creek Gardens, and what a way to be introduced to a new place.

Fall leaves tucked into the florals.
Autumn colors in every corner.
And sunlight finding its way through it all.

But my favorite part of the day was witnessing their Paebaek — a beautiful Korean wedding tradition filled with meaning, family, and a few very fun moments along the way.

I love when a wedding feels like a meeting of two worlds.
A little bit of where you came from.
A little bit of where you’re going.
And a whole lot of the two of you.

A little sneak peek from Y&M’s beautiful wedding this past Saturday at Saiuen Gardens 🤍

There are so many things I can plan for on a wedding day.

The timeline.
The photo spots.
The little moments I hope to catch.

But the light?

That one has a mind of its own.

And maybe that’s why I love it so much.

Saiuen Gardens had the most beautiful little pockets of natural light. Through windows. Around corners. Out on the balcony. Sometimes falling softly. Sometimes creating a cool light/shadow effect.

So many kind of light that makes you stop for a second and think, oh, there you are.
