Web streaming. Mixed-reality VR. Over a decade smashing together cameras, computers, and creativity. Over the years, we’ve created campaigns, built brands, produced videos, and done virtually anything that combines computers and cameras creatively. Originally started as a film and commercial production company, Punch Drunk’s scope quickly expanded. By 2005 our projects ran the gamut from building
dynamic database-driven websites to producing live VJ-mixed video projection shows, from designing entire campaigns to putting our clients in the cloud. We took brand, image, creative, and IT problems and create customized solutions that look amazing and work great. In 2011 we began slowly shifting gears back to our original passion: video production and live events. Now Punch Drunk provides live video and production services to a wide array of clients & artists: from rock concerts to multi-day technology conferences, from music festivals to awards galas. Punch Drunk was founded by Jacob Stone in 1998, then in his teens. Originally envisioned as a motion picture production company, Punch Drunk has grown wildly over the years. Toward the end of college, Jacob was offered jobs with two different bands – Queensryche and KMFDM – to provide live touring video. He toured with both bands from 2003 until 2009, simultaneously expanding Punch Drunk from a live video company into a full-fledged creative agency. The Seattle PI profiled Jacob in 2003. In 2005, Punch Drunk created Opticlash: The VJ Battle in Seattle. The event was both well-received and well-sponsored. In 2007, Opticlash 2 reprised the first concept, this time as a featured event with the Seattle International Film Festival. In the years following Opticlash, Punch Drunk became immersed in brand strategy and graphic/web design, working with a host of international clients and non-profit organizations. Today, Punch Drunk builds successful, interesting, compelling projects based on the combined experience of decades of core contributors, together with the bang-for-the-buck infrastructure offered by cloud-based systems and tools.
