I’ve been putting off this post for way too long because I have a TON of pictures to go through still, but I decided I’m done putting it off!
Anyone who knows us personally (or any random person I told our story to along the way😅) knows we spent a few months traveling from Texas then up the west coast to Washington.
We told everyone we were leaving and would update as we went, but that was before I got on the road and realized that I truly just wanted to live in the moment with my family and worry about editing and social media later. So now, after a few months of radio silence, I’m here to say it was amazing!
The states we hit Texas -> New Mexico -> Arizona -> California -> Oregon -> Washington
The National Parks we saw (in order) : White Sands, Saguaro, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Lassen Volcanic, Crater Lake, Mount Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades
Other parks we saw this year: Hot Springs, Gateway Arch, Big Bend, Guadalupe Mountains, and Carlsbad Caverns
My favorite National Park is Olympic, but now that we’re 5 minutes from Mount Rainier, it also holds a special place in my heart❤️
One of my favorite parts of the trip was driving down a random road in Yosemite and ending up at a lookout for half dome. It was a pretty short walk from the parking lot, and there was a great area for our 4 year old to climb around at the lookout (pictured above). We ended that day with ice cream and 3 kids passed out in the truck on the way back to camp.
In a couple of parks, we were only able to stay for the day. But one thing that was consistent across all of them was that we did at least one hike and always went to the visitors center for a sticker.
I could tell a million stories about everything we did, like breaking down in a random town in New Mexico with all the auto repair shops closed🙃 but I would be here all day writing it, so we’ll save those for another day😅
Stay tuned for more pictures of our new state, Washington❤️❤️
